Save face from being easily the best player in this game?

Idk where the agenda to knock our guy came from. He’s going to contribute this season. His role will be simplified. Go defend and be decisive when the ball gets swung to you

So now someone needs to have an agenda if they disagree he looked that good? I want him to succeed as much as the next Bucks fans, but you have to be realistic. He's playing in SL year 3 for a reason.

1) Ajax- I've said this before, but I think he is being played out of position. He is a natural point guard and the Bucks never play him there, even when he is in Oshkosh. He needs the ball in his hands. Whether he can succeed in that role is a legitimate question, but the Bucks have never given him a chance. I have no faith in his success, unless he can be a switchable point guard who can defend.

2) The number one quality I look at when scouting a player is do they understand the game. Marjon does not. I have real doubts that Livingston does, but he's younger. Ajax understands, as does Green.

3) I thought Rollins was the best defender I saw in Oshkosh last year. I think he understands the game and needs to be given a lot of playing time in Oshkosh. Needs to bulk up but he has the highest potential I've seen, although that opinion can change quickly with more evidence.

My list:

Green
Rollins
Ajax
Johnson-really haven't seen enough of him or Smith to have any accurate opinion
Smith
Livingston
the rest

I’m with you for the most part with everything in this post but couldn’t disagree more on AJax. He’s never really shown any ability to create with the ball in his hands at any level. It’s just not his thing. As a result, I tend to be fairly skeptical of him being a helpful player but it really boils down to him learning how to defend without fouling and finding a way to contribute on offense.

I would take MarJon over him still but the instincts definitely seem off with him which is a potentially fatal issue. That’s a huge part and it’s something AJax has and MarJon seemingly does not, but I just don’t see much skill with AJax and that has to improve at some point.

Ajax was an excellent passer at Uconn and was considered a point guard, sharing duties with Tristan Newton. Will it translate? Maybe not, but it's one of his top basketball skills. Bucks obviously agree with you, since he's never been given the chance. Mistake in my opinion.

He rarely created anything at UConn outside of transition. Otherwise he just dribbled unguarded while his teammates set offball screens and then he’d pass to the open guy; nothing like any NBA PG of substance is asked to do. He’s a nonexistent scorer and has never really shown the ability to attack with his dribble in the half court. Much more similar to Draymond Green than a PG offensively.

Ugly start
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Could Livingston be a bigger version of Lu Dort?

It drives me nuts how Marjon refuses to attack the rim on one foot. That stutter jump stop happens nearly every drive he makes and almost never survives the contact.

Marjon ain't gonna be part of our rotation this year. We're in trouble if that's the case

Agree. Lots of young players look indecisive, until they don't. Its part of the development process.

I just wish Marjon wouldn’t be so lethargic on defense. If he gave the same effort as AJJ he’d get plenty of playing time. He has to know his playing time and sticking in the NBA is going to be based on his defense and not 80 point games in high school gyms, but I feel like he doesn’t get it at all.

Would be nice to see 55 get some minutes at the one. If not that, at least let him run the offense a few times.

Truly terrible quarter by all the guys, but Marjon and Johnson stuck out for sucking sooooooo badly.

This is the Marjon I’ve been talking about… am I taking crazy pills or is he just not good?

We could cut Marjon at halftime and be better off for it
