This is the first Copa that I've watched. I'm sure previous ones were broadcast but never looked for them like I did the Euro.

I knew Columbia had done well in WCs before and Uruguay has a lot of players who play in the top European leagues.

I figured Argentina and Brazil have mostly dominated previous Copas.

But it's great that Columbia and especially Uruguay can punch so much above their weight.

OTOH, for all we know, those countries spend lavishly on football player development from the time they're little more than tots, while neglecting services for the rest of the population.

You know, kind of like Cuba with baseball players and Olympics boxers and athletes.

argentina and uruguay are actually tied for the most copa america wins (15), brazil has 9

colombia only has 1, but they do have twenty some fewer appearances than the top teams

Canada grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory.
It's time for 5 refs.

Spain was the best team and deserved to win. Colombia has been the best team and deserve to win too.

1 hour and 15 minute delay, now the audio on fox broadcast is off. What a mess this has been

Striking thing is how diverse Columbia's team is but Argentina isn't.

Not only the black players but Diaz looks like he's of at least some indigenous ethnicity while the Argentines all appear to be of European descent.

Buenos Aires is the Paris of South American but do they know what Paris looks like these days? A lot more diverse.

Something should be done about these pitches by the time the WC starts. It’s honestly embarrassing for all involved.

In his final game for Argentina, Di Maria is playing at a very high level, as he always has.

Colombia played their hearts out. To play that high pressing style for 120 minutes is incredible. In the end though, Argentina's depth prevailed.

It didn’t have as much flow as I’d have preferred, but was still a good final. Congrats to Argentina

Who's worse? Lloyd or Lalas?

I despise these 2.

I'm glad that James Rodriguez was at least recognized as the best player in the tournament. He deserved that recognition.

Memorable match. Both sides fought til the end. They were ready to brawl too, it seemed.

Messi and Di Maria both in tears, for different reasons. Copa doesn't have the cachet of the Euro yet it's everything to these players.

What about those fans bum rushing into the stadium without tickets? It's going to be like that in 2 years?

Shakira looked good. But she broke into the US market 23 years ago so she's got to be around 50? Looked good though, compliments to her parents. Or the plastic surgeons.

I don't know her stage shows or music but her show must be pretty much the same as 20 years ago?

This Argentina team turned into a juggernaut. I thought their window was closed after 2018, but they won 3 final tournaments in a row. Maybe they should have hired Scaloni earlier

Yeah lucky for the rest of the world they hired a good, smart coach first now. They have a great system, good depth. Shame Messi got a good national coach first when he was 35. They didn't dominate as much in this Copa because the Messi injury.
