Heh. Just as serious as the Maggs Gold Glove topic.
So far our boy Inge has gone an amazing 0-20 at the plate. Will he break out of it tonight? 8 K's is nothing to smile about either.
Brandon Inge- Silver slugger?

This slump comes on the heals of his contract renewal. Hate when that happens.

I guess my post gave him a spark.
I would much rather see Inge hit better for average than power down in that 9 spot. It's a real rally killer when you have someone batting .240 at the end of your lineup. As much as I like his homeruns, I feel if he boosted his average up to the .290 range, it would help the club a lot. Cutting down on the strikeouts wouldn't hurt either. He's got to try and stop chasing those low-in the dirt pitches.

I agree but that's just not going to happen. He is what he is...
That being said, I think we would be much better equipped to deal with him at the 9 spot if we didn't have an identical hitter at the 8 spot in Craig Monroe. Both will bat .250 -.265 with 24-30 homeruns and 75-85 rbi's. Both will go through stretches where they carry the team... And both will go through stretches where they are downright awful
I guess that as long as one of them is hot at a time, we are in good shape.
