These Summer league games are frenetic as hell, alot of these guys have been sitting and working out since March and are fresh.
Black's lack of shooting/scoring skills are still concerning. Guy has huge tree trunk legs and can box out bigger dudes. If he could become some exceptional rebounder there's probably a lineup with him and like 3 other guards.
Jett appears more athletic. He seems to have more game than Caleb but also more personality. With Houstan you know you're getting a guy who knows his role.
Da Silva is just nice. He's going to get minutes with his shooting and versatility. Wonder how much he can do off the dribble.
The Magic are trying to compete now and we may not have minutes for all the kids. I think this is why we took the older rookie Da Silva because he's more ready now.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

Jay Huff was +22 and Charles Bediako was -23. So the Centers were 55 points different in plus/minus.
Hmm

And somehow bediako did that in less than 10 min of play. Lol

Combining these, it is very clear that Huff will get at least a two-way contract from some team. But I think he has a real shot to be a full member of a team looking to shore up C depth. Example: with DaRon Holmes out for the season, the Nuggets could look hard at Huff on a full LLE deal.

And combining these, for me, da Silva is a more valuable asset than Howard when only considering the 2024/25 season.

Three is a zero point minus-zero divided by zero to-the-sqaure-root-of-zero chance that Black, Howard or da Silva would play in a Summer league BtB.

We are talking about Mr. #15. I like Huff to get such a LLE contract over the assured floor of a 2w-deal.
EDIT: let me rephrase my thought line. I do not anticipate Huff on a Magic 2-way deal as I think some team (not Orlando) will go LLE on him.

If they win the third game on Wednesday and have a chance to be the No. 1 seed in the tournament... I think they might play on Thursday.
But probably not.

Good summer league for Huff if he's getting people talking about him.

AB just doesn’t look like a lead guard. Felt this way when we drafted him and still do. I like AB and he still has time but I don’t know if that’s who he is.

He looks like an all-around contributor to me at this point, e.g., Suggs, White, Jrue.89Magicfan wrote:AB just doesn’t look like a lead guard. Felt this way when we drafted him and still do. I like AB and he still has time but I don’t know if that’s who he is.

Because he's 19 years old and 6'7", smart and a hard worker... I don't think we need to wonder or care what exactly AB is right now. There are a bunch of decent future roles or outcomes for him, any of which could happen. He has time to try being one thing and then pivot to being another.
But the idea hes going to be excellent at any one single archetype this year, to the point that he should start now by default (or be prioritised over a lead guard who could really drive this team) is crazy talk to me.

I believe he’s in that Doug Christie archetype.

He was pick 6th. It’s not crazy talk.
