Knicks sign Cam Payne

Knicks value McBride as an off ball demon. He ain’t going nowhere he’s part of the defensive culture.

If he does go, it’s likely for a big addition by subtraction and hope he gets more minutes if that’s the case. McBride saved us a few times in playoffs.

Duece not in the rotation would kill his value...it would make no sense.

The upside of Cam is that he is a player who is good and experienced enough to perform in the playoffs and scrub enough to get in and out of the rotation without much complaining.

thats fine but the roster is still pretty unbalanced. So Cam Payne was just signed to be a cheerleader? And Kolek seemed like decent enough depth as a 5th guard. This seems like a bit extra.

If we don't send him to Utah, I think we will give Kolek some G-league experience just like Deuce.

We gave him a 4 year deal so there’s reasons to think they believe in him somewhat, but even then I’d suspect most of it is gonna be in westchester this year

After an injury ridden year I don’t think we should look into everything as another move coming down the pipeline. I much rather have playable players at the end of the bench being situational than having to play 6 guys because Daquan Jeffries is the next man up

that makes sense but you think they would be more focused on finding depth with the bigs especially with Randle and Mitch coming off injuries.

How many guards do you need even with an injury they were covered at the position before Cam Payne.

minimum contract. has solid skills. shooting, hustle, playoff experience.

If JB misses any extended time during regular season, Cam is serviceable (NOT replacing JB obviously)

Yeah I think they are going to treat Kolek like how we did to Deuce for 2 years. Gonna develop him in the g league while we are in a super win now mode. Not a bad idea seeing how Deuce turned out anyways.

I don't think Payne will be on our team, they're signing him as a trade piece.

can't aggregate minimum salary. Minutes were tight even before this move.

Sure I agree, do think they need more front court depth, but I think it will be addressed when the right deal presents itself.

The whole Precious situation is more a precursor than anything because every week we hear the Knicks are still in contact with him and his agent yet no deal yet, almost like they are setting him up for nice one year prove it pay day in a sign and trade for front court help.

Who knows though we could move one of the guards at some point, but I think this front office is bit more creative than that
