not to reopen old wounds, grayson allen is not a 3 and d player lol

I’m all for any move that pushes Pat Connaughton down the depth chart. This move is real nice, Trent is a good player. He’s gonna D up and be our guy we needed Beasley to be last year.

Good signing, didn’t expect to Trent would sign for minimum. Not the ideal backcourt partner for Dame but we don’t have anybody better.

bingo (bango)

if we can't move Pat, fine, but at least now he's what..

let's see

Dame
GTjr
Khris
Giannis
Brook

Bobby
Wright
Green/Andre/Marjon (let's say one hits)

Prince
Pat

He's exactly where he needs to be. Guys you are not excited about putting into the game but can be a matchup dependent cog for 10 minutes in a finals game if necessary. This is VASTLY better than Pat being on the verge of starting if we get an injury.

Nice signing. But feels like we are still one or two players away from matching Boston’s firepower…

I like the rotation of Lillard, Trent, Midds, Gianni, Brook, Bobby, Prince, Wright. Assuming health, that’s a pretty solid top 8 in the playoffs.

Biggest remaining questions:

1) What’s the one realistic bench move we can still make?

2) Can we get anymore legit center depth beyond GA, Brook, Bobby?

3) Can any of these young guys take a real step forward to be a contributor (AJJ, Ajax, Green, Livingston, Marjon, Smith) or will they all burn important roster spots?

4) And the biggest: can we stay relatively healthy for 82 games?

I just want to say that i'm taking this as a good omen. I recently talked my wife into a hair brained scheme of renting out our house so that we could move right next to Fiserv for the next two seasons (literally right next to it). It worked, leases signed on both ends. We move in 12 days.

Guys, this is a movement. Let's get down there.

Signing Wright and Trent and apparently guaranteeing Aj Green a big enough role he didn’t have to participate in SL definitely suggests Pat C is gonna play garbage minutes like he should be doing. Only thing that sucks now is his contract is awfully expensive for a towel waiver but he’s a great locker room guy so if he’s just the new Thanasis I’m fine with it. It’s not my money. Plus I think Horst will figure out a way to unload Pat and Marjon at some point, we might just have to wait til the deadline for that. As far as bubble roster guys go it’s easy to say that Pat and Marjon are the last 2 out imo.

Dame/Trent/Khris/Giannis/Brook
Wright/Prince/Bobby

Seems most likely the 8man playoff rotation as of right now. We can compete with anyone, there’s no doubt about it. **** Boston and New York lol.

I don't know what a rebound year would look like for Pat, but it would be cool if he had it in him.

I think Dame has a nice bounce back year but no chance he’s above Tatum and he’s probably pretty close with Brown.

This thread is going to age like milk.

The board is going to demand that Horst dump Trent for peanuts at some point this season, just like they did with Beasley.

Find little things that one does better than the other all you want, but the fact of the matter is they both suck. There's a reason it's week 3 of FA and dude is picking up a minimum contract.

Hell, this is the first time teams had to spend to hit the salary floor by the time the new league year started with the new CBA and the guy still couldn't get a deal.

Yes, signing Trent for the minimum is better than not signing Trent for the minimum, but anyone thinking this is anything different than Beasley last year is delusional.

The way GTJ plays, his handles, fluidity, shooting is what MarJon should have become having similar build.

Beasley was apart of one of the best 5 man lineups in basketball last year. The bar is very low.

Wish we would stop acting like we need prime Tony Allen or Joe Dumars next to Dame. The point-of-attack-defense obsession will/should subside a bit when people realize how much of a difference having an actual defensive system in place makes.

You mean Malik Beasley taking the “Jrue Holiday” role wasn’t a good idea, you’re **** me?
