Gary Trent Jr. reportedly turned down multiple offers from other teams, which were willing to offer him multi-year mid-level contracts, and decided to sign with Milwaukee for the minimum to reunite with Damian Lillard, per @BlakeMurphyODC

I expect we're done this off-season minus maybe swapping Galloway for a developmental big on a 2-way. And I'm perfectly fine with that. Great signing for the veteran min. Very happy with what we've done with limited flexibility.

Was about to say the same thing, I expect Galloway to be punted now for a big man. Not that a 2-way big will help all that much, but the depth there is non existent.

But getting GTJ for the minimum an absolute no-brainer, great get.

Find little things that one does better than the other all you want, but the fact of the matter is they both suck. There's a reason it's week 3 of FA and dude is picking up a minimum contract.

Hell, this is the first time teams had to spend to hit the salary floor by the time the new league year started with the new CBA and the guy still couldn't get a deal.

Yes, signing Trent for the minimum is better than not signing Trent for the minimum, but anyone thinking this is anything different than Beasley last year is delusional.

Beasely is a good shooter but a bad basketball player. That's the difference here. Mark this down for later - GTJ is only 25 and he's a good shooter and good basketball player. Smart, intuitive and he moves the ball with crisp passes when he's not open. Beasely is a bad comparison actually because he's none of those

Looking ahead and after consulting with GAD, apparently if things go well we have flexibility to re-sign him to a long term deal next year so long as we get under the second apron.

Would love to do some sort of 2 for 1 where we send Pat + one of the young ins for less salary back. Might not be enough given the price to clear cash these days

If we're a 60 win team it's not because of any personnel moves we made, and I wouldn't bet on us to win more regular season games than the C's, but we remain a tough matchup for them if healthy.

My first thought was it's crazy Klay Thompson got $50 million (not sure on the guarantee) while Trent Jr had to settle for a vet min. He's not the perfect player but he's still talented and in his prime. Hopefully he comes in motivated and adds some juice to the team.

People are giving credit to Horst for his and I have no idea why? Feel like it's all Dame and Doc (per the espn article) and wanting to play with our big 3.

He may have ALOT of help but he's still the GM and deserves the credit in the same way he'll get the blame if moves don't work out. Coaches and players make suggestions all the time and the GM has to weight it out and decide to make the move or not.

We have Giannis/Dame/Khris with a solid cast of role players around them. And now a non-doofus coaching staff running the show from day 1 w/ a full training camp. They're going to be extremely good for every extended stretch where they're healthy. How many of those stretches we get is the question.
