Diabetes runs in my family. Both my parents have it and my grandfather passed away from it. While I actively take the precautions to avoid having it myself. The $35 cap on insulin is a huge plus.
I'm also big into nutrition. GOP routinely push for less regulation towards food supply. This is also alarming to me.
I mean, that's because Republicans are ultra-capitalistic, and things like regulation and social safety nets are by nature anti-capitalistic
That's where you also get Nikki Haley, the "reasonable" Republican, running on raising the retirement age, Ben Shapiro saying there should be no such thing as retirement and people should work until they die, what's his name the Oldest Millennial (I think, I forget who exactly said this) on TikTok saying he thinks we should yeet babies off a cliff if they have disabilities because they can't "contribute" to society and are therefore worthless because conservatives think you need to have "value" to justify existing in society
This is where we talk about false dichotomies, because just because Republicans are this way doesn't mean Dems are pro worker, anti-capitalist, etc, they very clearly are not. I'm not saying people who are pro-worker, anti-corporation, pro-social safety nets should vote Dem, just that they really shouldn't vote Republican.
