Biggest takeaway from the 1st two SL games is that the center they drafted at 58 should have been drafted at 58. Or should have been UDFA signing

Actually, probably should have been non-DFA

I feel like you can see the potential with Dadiet, like he moves well, he has some legit moments on defense but really lapses a lot of the time, his shot looks good but is just off, he makes some really nice passes every once in a while

I think a realistic best case scenario is Cam Johnson, which is not bad at all for a 25th overall pick, and he may be even better, but he's super raw still

The good news is, unlike a Kevin Knox where we just had him come in and play and take as many shots as he wanted and didn't develop him, we can take our time with Dadiet. Though tbf I would put money on it being more likely he's traded than he becomes an actual contributor to the team

Kolek is really nice though.

Guys on here were complaining that Brunson couldn't play alongside Spida but now suggesting we play Kolek alongside Brunson? :crazy:
Make that make sense.

Skap has honestly been more impressive then Da Diet and Huaktuah. He's earned a training camp invite. Nice J, uses his size well, runs the floor well, rebounds well and I've seen him make some iHart like back door passes in Westchester. Not gonna jump the gun and say he is the man at the backup 5 but I wouldn't be surprised if he works his way into that role. Skap does a lot of things Thibs likes in his Centers.

Da Diet is 18 yo so not expecting much. He has shown flashes of raw ability with his handle and man to man defense. Thibs will be good for him if he listens and works hard. Kolek can def run the show but I'd like to see him look for his shot a little bit more. Hukporti has honestly been disappointing. He looked more athletic and quick in his highlights but he's been a stiff in SL. Washington and Toppin should be invited to camp.

Dadiet & Huaktuah = scrubs
Kolek = ok, defensively challenged backup PG, which is fine
Jockitchbitus = euro buns
Skap = larger euro buns

McCullar will be the best draft pick, bootleg version of Hart x Grimes

Oh I'm not advocating for them to play together, I just like Kolek's game.

Yeah I mentioned that even in the 1st SL game that Skapentsev looked better than Hukporti (and that was with Hukporti having a better statistical game that the big Ukrainian). Definitely looked better in the 2nd game. And I'm not saying that Skapentsev should be on the roster. Jericho Sims probably would be putting up 20/10 on like 70% shooting in SL.

Is he better than Sims?

IMO no. He's going to have problems defending against NBA caliber talent.

Thus far the guy that has looked the best overall (in terms of potentially being able to contribute to the Knicks) has been Toppin IMO. Of anyone on the SL team the one that I can see get some playing time is Toppin given the Knicks current thin and injury prone front court. He's definitely a whole lot more rounded skill wise than his older brother.

Rokubaitis also has looked better than I expected. He has an NBA body, is surprisingly athletic and agile and you can see he has a good amount of basketball skills across the board. Playing time will be the problem and I would expect him to go back to Europe.

Can definitely see potential in Dadiet. The question/concern is will he actually be able to develop on this team so that whatever potential can be unlocked. I would expect him to be playing heavy minutes in Westchester for most of the season where hopefully they will focus a lot of time and energy to help him learn how to play the NBA game the right way. He seems like he's confident. Will he be willing to take the time to learn and really internalize what they teach him or will he go the way of Kevin Knox?

Kolek will be fine. Like all rookies, he's going to need to get use to the NBA game. He's smart enough to figure it out.

Duane Washington Jr has been the biggest contributor to both loses so far with his selfish play.

Thibs will be our gatekeeper against Duane. Anyway, we got CamPaign signed for the backup PG role now, so doubt we're going to take the time to let RockUs mature or let Duane steal our only basketball.

They're not totally related. Deuce isn't a real PG and Kolek maybe not being the next Steve Nash doesn't mean that you have to deal or keep Deuce or Kolek. The Knicks still need a real backup PG more than they do a 3rd string SG.

Yeah. Payne always seems to do real well against the Knicks. Hopefully just being around the Knicks gets him going lol. But I think that's a real good signing especially considering that it's just for the vet min.
