WNBA To Receive $2.2 Billion In New Media Rights Deal

The WNBA is set to receive $2.2 billion over 11 years in its next media rights package deal, reported Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic.

The league will receive an average of at least $200 million per season, with an opportunity to earn more should it bring in additional partners.

The WNBA's current media rights deal, worth $50 million per year, is set to expire in 2025.

Similar to the NBA, the WNBA's national media package is with Disney, NBC, and Amazon.

Losing money has been Disney's business strategy for serveral years now. Still a few more before chapter 11.
