I bet you'll be surprised with how many minutes he'll play. He could be DJ "the Elfrid killer" Agustin all over again.

That's Weltman-Raptors connection.

Given it's 15# spot, it's fine, i remember years ago betting on sports and Raptors were last game i needed for win, and he made clutch 3, love him ever since

I expect that we will start the season with Suggs/AB labeled as PGs in rotation with Corey Joseph being third wheel. Cole would probably be a 6th man again, as PG/SG combo guard behind KCP and ahead of Harris/Jett.

Needless to say that this makes me anxious as to what the plan is for the offence, for on paper, it seems very, very unlikely this rotation can produce league average offensive efficiency.

I can only go by what the data I’ve seen last few weeks but it seems that Franz is probably our best play maker and one of the tops in the league at playmaking and pnr. My guess is to expand that as Paolo is there as well (Franz is rated higher tho).

Just an educated guess but we might be molding him to be our Doncic, Hedo, etc.

I don't even disagree with this!

But until they're off the team (or not available bc of injury), they are gonna play.

I'm 100% confident Cole is going to play. Less than 100% confident on Gary, but I still think he'll play.

I've noticed the last 3 years that every skinny white 6'9" young player is being compared to Franz.

Yeah, I think we tried that before when Vogel was a coach.

Nobody has anything close to that hostage hesitation Franz has at 6’9-6’10.

If he develops a consistent shot he is an absolute weapon on offense.

From a pure positional standpoint... I do agree with this.

I do think there's a strong chance they look to use three-guard bench units.

We basically got what many people consider the no 1 pick as the 8th.

It is part n parcel that I am hopeful our assessments of talent has gotten better with AB and yes even Jett Howard. It may take time for both of them to cook but if they follow even a Suggs level of development path we have a very dangerous team for a while. Maybe even the pieces for a contender.

It's also why here I am mentioning it again. We played a player in the playoffs who may not be in the NBA by the end of this off season over either rookie, in a series we lost anyway. Granted, I guess we came really close to the second round, so there is that.

I should bury the hatchet. It just looks too shiny and I don't want people to think I am not pulling my AB weight.

I agree. It looks like the answer is going to come in the form of a "going small big" lineup.

Cole / Harris / AB or TDS / Isaac / Moe

seems like a forgone conclusion in our position less basketball hot take. Injuries might dictate how much minutes Goga gets in place of Isaac I am assuming right now.

It’s hard to gauge how much young players will improve but I am ok with betting on Suggs, Franz and Paolo to improve their playmaking because they have shown some ability there and the ability to improve other areas.

Also, people like to undersell how many times Franz and Paolo created open looks only for them to be bricks or not even shot at all (looking at you Fultz). We could be potentially adding 3 good shooters on good volume in KCP, TDS and Jett.

We won’t make a massive jump but there is likely to be improvement for our offense while potentially remaining a top 3 defensive team.

Current roster thoughts.

We are stacked in the "G" position.

Weak to extremely weak in terms of centers.

Great to contender worthy at PF / F positions.

AB is going to need a HEAVY workload IMO to work on his game and his confidence. This is a situation like an MLB Prospect needing time to develop in the minors, AB needs to develop in the G-League this season. He needs game reps and game speed regularly and have the freedom to make mistakes and learn from them. Given the construction and expectations of this time AB’s leash would be the shortest.

Had the sent AB to Osceola last season for even HALF the season maybe we aren’t having this conversation today. But it was mismanaged horribly and now we have to have this serious debate about what to do with AB. I can’t even say AB just needs to fine tune his game, he actually has to find his game. Being great at defense isn’t enough with this team we have. Sure it’s one of the main focal points but ultimately you have to score to win. AB’s success will be determined solely on what they do with him to start the season.

What if we signed Huff to a two way contract and started AB out with Osceola at the start of the season? Huff could start out the year on the bench and in the inevitable WCJ missing time due to an injury possibly step in and start. Mosley doesn’t like to mess with the bench lineup so Mo isn’t going to start when MCJ isn’t playing. Yes we have Goga but I’ve seen a lot to like from Huff to warrant seeing more. Also of WCJ is tradable we’d need another center depending on what he was traded for.
