Taking Rui to me isn't worth unprotecting the pick. Not a knock on him, I just don't see the value he brings with all of the kids the Jazz have plus John Collins still on the team.

LAL needs shooters. CamJo is a much better fit in LA than Rui. That is worth a 1st for sure. But, how do you value Vandy? I don't know if he needs to be in the deal nor do I value him very much.

Are we sure Sexton on a contender is better than DLo?
How much of an upgrade is Cam Johnson from the combination on Vanderbilt/Rui?

I see Johnson a wonderful 6th man. But his distance shooting alone make him better than Vanderbilt. Hachimura is a push.

Again - is Johnson a 1st rd pick better than the combination of Rui and Vanderbilt?

No.

I would say yes. CamJo is at an all-time low. Look at his numbers for every other year than last. He would likely be a 42-45% 3PT shooter for the Lakers with all the attention on LeBron and AD. If he puts up his normal 15-16 PPG on high FG and 3PFG% that is exactly one of the two main things LAL needs.

If they don't get that soon they will possibly have to blow this team up before the All-Star Break or just concede they are not contenders altogether very soon.
