Re: RIP PAT WILLIAMS
Seems so sudden and a significant loss to sports community.
He tried to get baseball, hopefully someone else picks up on that torch.

Re: RIP PAT WILLIAMS
Pat Williams changed my life.
If it was not for him, The Magic would never have come to Orlando and I might never have gotten into Basketball.
The Magic got me through some tough years and after High School, I joined up with a startup website called RealGM and here we are 24 years later.
If it were not for Pat Williams, my life might be totally different today.
Thank you for everything.

Re: RIP PAT WILLIAMS
Pat helped make Orlando what it was in the 90s. Was a very special time for the city and its residents. Wish I had a time machine and could go back for just a day.
Very, very sad to hear this and may he rest in peace.

Damn, RIP Pat Williams!!
Thank you for bringing basketball to Orlando. Following the Orlando Magic is probably my most passionate hobby. And I wouldnt be able to do that without you Pat.

Re: RIP PAT WILLIAMS
RIP to a genuinely great human being that i got to meet a few times throughout the years. Brought professional sports to our city (that still had many dirt roads at the time), and he believed fully in it.

Re: RIP PAT WILLIAMS
Truly a great man. RIP Pat.
He came and spoke to an organization I was with in college at UCF. I remember him challenging us to read more, as he liked to read every night for an hour or two. In fact he claimed to read a book a week (i have to assume they were non-fiction shorter books, not Game of Thrones style 800 page behemoths, lol). He challenged us to read 52 books in 1 year (1 book per week). Beyond just expanding your knowledge, if you read a book every week, you'll always have something interesting to discuss and bring up with friends and parties, haha.
I tried it out, got about 10 books in and then got super busy with life. I still one day will go back to it. If I weren't so busy now in general I'd attempt it in his memory, but realistically I don't want to try again until i'm ready.
I still have a couple of his books on my shelf though. He wrote several.
Pat is survived by his wife and 19 kids (14 of which he adopted, like I said...great man).

Praying for his family.
