Maybe he should go that far back the next time he's at the free-throw line.

If he could hit even 60% at the line we'd be gold.

First 'if': If Randle signs his extension this summer, I don't know what it would have to be to make everyone happy including Randle, the Knicks and the Wolves but it seems MIN doesn't want to trade for a guy in his last year of contract potentially losing him for nothing after trading KAT for him.

Second 'if': If MIN will do the trade without getting the pick haul they probably want to trade KAT. There would have to be enough talent and cap relief to make it worth doing the deal while staying title contenders but the Knicks sure don't have that draft capital they'd want anymore.

If those two big 'if's happen, then I think a trade will happen, if either of those aren't happening, the deal isn't happening.

I still don't know 'if' I'd like it.

On a different note, wouldn’t KAT totally change our (defensive) identity? I get we will score more. And now we are risking more OG injuries as he will play the 4.

Super risky imo. Way safer imo to play out the coming season and see what we got, then make moves.

You missed the point of my comment, it wasn't about the basketball 'fit' analysis, it was about what may be the hold up to any potential deal and what I see as the reasons why it would or wouldn't happen. The fit is another story altogether.

Yet if you're talking about waiting a year that changes so much with the players values and it really does depend on whether Randle signs an extension before this season. If he doesn't he becomes a UFA and the Knicks are in a much different position as far as him as a trade asset, it's practically none at that point. So making moves with him become limited at best, nonexistent is likely.

That is risky if you are talking about asset management and waiting to find out what the Knicks got may result in them not having it anymore so that wait and see approach could backfire, too. There's no risk free strategy.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right

GreenSatan has a tendency for stretching the truth. It was however suppose to be the Duece McBride episode that was announced like 4 days ago. And they say they are now saying they are holding off dropping the episode when all the episodes drop on Thursday.

Who knows what it means. Could mean nothing....also not sure why Brunson/Hart would be ahead of trade news...they didn't seem to even be clued in on a Mikal trade before it happened.

not sure where you are getting that or just wishing for it to happen.

you don't actually believe that right? We don't have the picks to make that work.

Now if you want to maybe include Randle for Dillon Brooks as well. That would at least be more realistic from the Rockets POV.

Sengun in the small chance it was possible would be Randle and Duece and then they would have to add cap matching filler.

We would need more salary added on their end than that to make it work.

I just did the following on fanspo

Randle, McBride, and Sims

for

Sengun, Brooks, and Jeff Green

and the salaries are within 64k of each other. Meaning it would be really close we obviously work out a S&T or small player for the difference.

Sengun would be an amazing get.

The ONLY other guy (besides the polarizing KAT) I can think of that could be available that would be worth it to give up Randle is Sengun.

Apparently he pissed the coach off a ton with his freelancing and they won without him at end of season. Do Knicks think he is a better option than Randle if he doesn't want to play ball in negotiations? It's a good question.

Quite doubtful but fun to speculate because Houston is itching to make a move. Duece and Randle are quite a package of players.

Brooks would give us another Thibs hard nosed tweener defender

I love deuce but Undersized guards who aren’t primary ball handlers have limited value, albeit he has an amazing contract, I still see his value very similar to a player like walker Kesslers ilk
