I'm going with an A-
The only real negative is we didn't do anything at the C position. Either in the draft or free agency.

Re: Grade the offseason
You forgot drafting Simpson and Salaun and cutting Bertans, Thor and McGowens.
I give it a B+. Nothing super exciting but some savvy value plays.

Voted B, feel like one more move to upgrade bench depth is needed. If they upgrade Richards or Martin my vote would change to an A.

Relative A+, objective B, potential objective A if C depth is suitably addressed prior to season. A's, B's, and C's.

Re: Grade the offseason
B for me. Josh Green deal was terrific. Salaun pick grade will be incomplete until he can deliver rotation minutes and we see if the potential turns into real production. Resigning Miles at a reasonable contract was a big win, since any other good pivot options were practically gone by the time the deal was done. Maybe a little too much push for culture change by picking Taj (who WILL be a help) verses securing a solid reserve 5. I’d take the latter if it’s an either/or proposition. Good cuts of players who really don’t add anything verses their costs. Need one more good trade. Not thrilled by the Reggie Jackson deal, but presume he will be cut if we can’t parlay him into another trade once a team has a PG go down.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Re: Grade the offseason
Incomplete so far for me. But I can’t really argue with any of the Hornets’ moves this summer. When was the last time we could say that? Like, ever?
If Salaun develops and the franchise balances the roster, I’d give it an A.

I'd give it a B.
A bunch of savvy moves around the edges. Miles deal is a good value, Charles Lee seems capable, getting Josh Green for peanuts is a great sign for our new front office. If the Salaun pick is a hit then I'd raise it to an A, but right now I can't go that high.

Re: Grade the offseason
Incomplete we still have an overload on guards. Another move has to be made to free up some playing time. Otherwise we are stuck with a bunch of guards just riding the pine all season.

Re: Grade the offseason
Completely disregarding the draft, because I have absolutely no idea how to rate the Salaun pick... I want to say B-.
Organizational change is happening and it looks positive, that was goal #1 above all else. Kemba as a mentor or whatever is role is, is something we should've done years ago even if it meant he took a roster spot.
We leveraged cap space and got a few 2nds and an ok young player in Green. Nothing exciting, but it's something.
Bridges on the contract he got, is a positive from a basketball standpoint.
But... this year's roster has the same issues as our post-deadline roster from last season. We are still a Mark injury away from a devastatingly bad C rotation. We'll lack self creation in games LaMelo misses (hope Micic or Mann is up for the challenge). Far too many fringe scoring guards again as well
Vibes are good, but I think we're entering our third straight season of a not quite playoff caliber roster when healthy and could very easily win 25 games again if injuries strike.

This needs to be a 2-3 years ago grade. No way to see how the off-season really was until the future

Re: Grade the offseason
Echoing Swedd on this, I pretty universally loathe "grade the draft" or "grade the offseason" stuff for the reason he said so I'm out on this and will just say I'm generally happy with how things are trending.
