I'm looking forward to the blame shifting to Embiid for another failure next year. I generally don't care about the Sixers because they've been irrelevant for decades but I'd bet that many people will start preferring both JT and JB to Embiid after next season. For all the reasons you'd think.

Also this Kyrie injury. Dallas has had the fun Kyrie experience. But phase one is over. This is the beginning of the next, inevitable, much-less-fun phase.

It's only him and Rex Chapman with exactly that amount of RS games played.

I think they should just trade Jokic to the Celtics before his prime ends.

My draft crush is, erm, crushing it. Drafted at the spot I proposed trading up to.
And we all know Summer League is final. He is basically a hall of famer. They're just waiting 22 years until he retires first.

Luckily we have the cheaper, better defending version in Watson. Assuming he lets it fly and it flies true.

Celtics Estimated Wins Added at 0.0 is absolutely perfect. Add 10 wins via internal improvement plus ultra-enhanced chemistry/vibes and the 2025 Celtics will have a record of 74-8.

It’s a weird pet peeve of mine but no one wants to explain how the picks work assuming multiple teams are in the second apron. Three teams get the thirtieth pick?

Seems to be assigning a positive value to almost all but the worst players which feels like a low key fatal flaw.

And Caruso and Hartenstein are supposed to push the Thunder up to 96 Bulls/2016 Dubs territory? Wow... impressive work for guys who are good players but still couldn't even start for their previous teams when they were at full strength.

Malik Beasley being worth 3.7 wins by himself seems a bit too fantastical.

I think this model assumes how good the player would be compared to playing 4 v 5.

I would guess all teams in that scenario get pushed to the end of round 1 and who picks first/last out of those teams is determined by regular draft order criteria. e.g. 3 teams in that scenario and they'll pick 28th, 29th, and 30th. 28th pick has the worst record of the 3 and 30th has the best record. I've not found anything that confirms it as I've wondered as well, but maybe there's nothing out there because it'll just be something simple like that so not exciting enough to report aside from some unofficial Reddit stuff.

The interesting thing for me is a team who's sent out picks in the future like the Suns but is also in the second apron. Normally the Nets would be looking at outsourcing their tank potentially just like we did to them to get the Jays. Now instead it seems like the Nets might get lousy picks at the end of the first round regardless of what the Suns actual record is. A loophole I could see a guy like Brad exploring to be ultra aggressive if an opportunity to retool and start another window became available. He trades 1st rounders most years anyways so if we get some new owners with deep pockets you could retool at the cost of those picks to a team who expects them to be super valuable as they bet on the Celtics record falling off. Since those picks become frozen and are for future years (not even the year you're in the 2nd apron as I understand), it's a one time trick I could see a smart group of guys like Brad and Zarren pulling off one time before the league catches on.

Of course the other wrinkle in all of this imo is the cba expires after the 2029/30 season. I expect changes as competitive teams aren't going to vote for this stuff again, and others willing to spend more than others won't either. These "frozen picks" wouldn't come into play until a new cba were in effect.

Suburb of Philly.

It's like the temporarily intended move of the Washington Wizards to Alexandria, VA.

Exception to that analogy: If a government organization really were to buy the team, rather than a private group.
