Capela/Mitch swap is to make the $$$ work and provide more durability. NY receives players they have been rumored to have interest in.

I left out some of the scrubs that make the deal work. Tested trade on fanspo and made sure it worked with the cap on the Spotrac trade machine.

That would be amazing but some NBA 2k ish

what rumors and speculation?

And why does ATL make out like bandits?

Mitch is better than Capela and then they just get Duece for **** and giggles?

Replace a sign and trade Achuiwa for Mcbride and I like it throw whatever picks in there that we have left over we wouldnt need them

Unfortunately this trade doesnt work since Houston is taking in more money which would cap them at the first apron and this deal puts them about 20 million over the first apron

I couldn't agree more with this. Deuce is a better player than both Richards and Kessler. Seeing some people wanting to trade Deuce plus picks for these guys is insane. I don't think it is a stretch to believe Deuce will take another leap this year it is just unfortunate that he is now buried on the bench with the addition of Mikal. I have doubts he will have the playing time to show what he can do and up his value.

Thibs and the staff will figure it out. It's not like we don't have options.

And what team or teams are signing him for the max?

Houston

I don't see them going after Randle.

I mean, we went into last year without options at the 4 behind Randle.

We also filled the back end of our roster with G-Leaguers who don't even make the start in summer league (looking at you Charlie Brown).

I think Cousins, Howard, John Wall, Danny Green, etc all could give us more than the 8th man of the Beijing Ducks.

None of these guys are NBA players, they're simply names that are all old and broken down. At least with the G-leaguers you get effort and athleticism.

What's even more insane are those saying Kolek is currently better than Deuce. It's unbelievable how Deuce went from great signing, good player to 'let's throw him into a trade'

I like what I've seen from Kolek but the guy hasn't played a second of NBA ball. People need to pump the brakes a bit here.

I don't really see anyone saying that. Kolek is not better than Duece...the only thing he does better right now is initiate the offense and passing since Duece really isn't a PG. The knicks have said as much as they consider Duece more of an off ball guard.

The problem with that is how the roster is currently constructed and the additional of Mikal who is looking like he is starting at the 2. And you have Donte off the bench now where are the minutes for Duece?

So while most value Duece more if you can also help fill a big need for this team especially with Mitch's injury history and probably needed the backup to also be a suitable starter for 30 plus games a year...that is where people are like can we survive with Cam Payne or Kolek PG minutes for 10-12 minutes a night because we are so thin up front to then potentially move Duece?

We probably don’t really need Deuce to be a pure point though at the 1. We’ll be staggering Brunson/Randle/Mikal for shot creation and we still have Donte as the 6th man. There’s no good big men out there that’s available that’s worth giving up Deuce.
