I’m making the point that Thomas had a better year than Curry in 2017 even though Curry had a better career up until that point & was still regarded as the better player.
I used that as an example for the Tatum/Brunson debate. You can make a case that Brunson had a better year but one year doesn’t put him over Tatum.
Cmon mate..you are cheery picking Isiah Thomas 2.0 to prove Jalen Brunson is some kind of fluke. Brunson is better now and since we live in the present (not the hot tub time machine) he's better period.
Their paths are very similar actually.
- Both second round picks that played 3 years in college.
- Were 6th man/secondary options for the first couple of years of their career.
- Got traded/signed to a perfect situation for them at around 26/27 that allowed them to thrive.
- Made all-NBA honours & MVP votes the second year of their tenture with that team.
