The Knicks have elevated because brought in Thibs who has instilled an identity, and for once their FO has targeted quality role players, made a few savvy trades, and one of the best FA signings ever in Brunson. And aside from Bogdanovic trade (which was just flipped into Bridges), all the other players targeted fit Thibs vision so their coaching staff/FA is obviously in lockstep. That's what has elevated them. Randle is along for the ride.

So the guy who salmost singlehandely led his team to the 4th seed in playoffs just a few years earlier, who is also a 3 time allstar, and a 2 time all nba player is just "along for the ride."?

I think the top contenders are the Celtics, Nuggets, and Thunder.

Knicks are in the next tier with other strong contenders like the Wolves, Bucks, and Mavericks.

Brunson is great but a lot of these other teams have 2+ players who can explode offensively when sets break down.
