:argue: how do you realistically think things are going to play out when we are trying to win games and give AB on the job training during games? You know his leash is going to be hella short. The SHOULD have done this with him last year but because they didn’t now I think it’s a legit option to consider. He needs A LOT of work and the freedom to learn from making mistakes in the game without being taken out right away.
I genuinely think AB is already good enough to start. He's that good on defense, and lineups with him in it on the whole played well.

Does that mean he's in a win-now optimized starting lineup? No.

I genuinely think he's good enough to be in the rotation. Does that mean he's in a win-now optimized rotation? YES.

So, without factoring in player development he's reasonably included in our best, most optimized rotation. His perimeter defense, spot-up shooting, and off ball IQ is already good enough.

Now once you start sprinkling in some incentives to develop the player we pick number six? It's a f****** no-brainer.

Don’t you think if he’s good enough to start right now as you say then something is really wrong with all the DNP’s he was racking up last season? Look I want the kid to succeed and be good, hell I was really hard on that pick draft night BUT I’ve softened up somewhat on him.

There is a glaring issue though with his game, outside the defensive awareness and abilities he doesn’t have a strength on the offensive end of the floor. I know he hit WIDE OPEN 3’s, cool good he’s in the NBA he should be able to do that. He’s not yet fast enough, he doesn’t have pg handles, he’s not strong enough physically yet, and he’s not even sure what he wants to do before he does it. The game hasn’t slowed down yet for him and he needs to play a lot for that to happen.

Black is in the rotation to start the season. Book it.

My biggest question is who sits out of TDS, Cole, and Harris.

Harris is the odd man out for me. Cole is more dynamic on offense than Harris.

2nd unit has JI and Black. TDS likely also I don’t think the defense will be a big issue.

We have no real investment in Harris or commitment. He can fill in when needed but unless Black and TDS are complete crap I do see the team sitting Harris.

Call me delusional.

If history is any indicator the magic win basketball games way more often with Gary playing. Can the same be said for Cole? TDS is an unknown still. That'll be up to Mosley to decide. So far in summer league he's been pretty consistent and hasn't really had any duds. That bodes well but it is still only summer league.

Huff could start out the year on the bench and in the inevitable WCJ missing time due to an injury possibly step in and start. Mosley doesn’t like to mess with the bench lineup so Mo isn’t going to start when MCJ isn’t playing. Yes we have Goga but I’ve seen a lot to like from Huff to warrant seeing more. Also of WCJ is tradable we’d need another center depending on what he was traded for.

honest question, what have you seen from Huff that you havent from Goga?

A 3 point shot, running the length of the court WITH the ball for a dunk.

You forgot aggression to the basket. Goga seems to easily change his shot when a defender challenges him in the rim.

Anyway we can add a center at the trade deadline with picks.

Suggs / Black
KCP / Jett
Franz / TDS
Paolo / JI
Open / WCJ

IIRC Goga was once near the basket with TJ McConnel on him and he ended up passing it to one of his teammates.. I like Goga and think he's a better player but he plays way too passive on offense IMO

Jay Huff is against summer league scrubs, can't apply any of that to the league.

Isnt that the opposite of a contract year pwrformance? You would think guys whose contracts are expiring would go HAM to get a new one

I liked Kolek. He’s getting 7-9 assists per game so far.

I actually like the Corey Joseph signing. He is a decent veteran player to bring some playoff experience

I would give Mac McClung one of the remaining two-way contracts.

Why? We have plenty of guards.

There’s no wings or forwards that have really blown me away on the Summer League team though.

And Huff, while he’s played well, would be like 5th in line at center and also the oldest center on the roster (think about that!)

I just think Mac is an NBA player. I guess they could sign somebody else from another summer league roster.

I stand corrected. Moe Wagner is a few months older than Jay Huff.

Wendell and Goga are both younger.
