Bucks/Wizards Swap
MIL In: Corey Kispert
WAS In: Connaughton, Beauchamp and 2031 1st (Top 3 protected)
Bucks get under the 2nd apron and add a good shooting wing to replace Connaughton.
Wizards use the Gafford TPE to take on additional salary and compensated with a lightly protected 2031 1st when the Bucks will possibly be rebuilding.

I can’t see Bucks giving up that 1st for this.

Re: Bucks/Wizards Swap
Seems unnecessary for MIL. I don't think they need to go under the 2nd apron unless there's a separate transaction they want to do but can't unless they do this. It seems unlikely, IMO, that they'll struggle with 2nd apron repeater rates based on Lopez and Middleton expiring after this/next season (respectively) and likely due for pay cuts.
My guess is WAS fans will be against it because they seem to value Kispert pretty highly but in real life have to imagine they'd jump at this.

No. I would definitely do this. A 2031 pick with only top 3 protection could be extremely valuable. Kispert is a solid player, but he'll get paid a market value contract in a year, reducing his trade value considerably.
I might have been more resistant to this trade a month ago, but now that they've traded Deni, it looks like the Wizards have no interest whatsoever in fielding a competitive team anytime in the next 2 or 3 years. This will be a LONG rebuild. By the time they're ready to seriously compete, Kispert will be gone anyhow. Better to trade him now for more value.

Before Trent, maybe. Now? I wouldn't pay that price as the Bucks.

Re: Bucks/Wizards Swap
Bucks have done well enough on the fringes this offseason. Only way I’d move the only pick they have available to trade is a much bigger deal. Even then I’d be hesitant. Can’t kick the can down the road forever.

Re: Bucks/Wizards Swap
I actually like it - but I have been, and remain, higher on Kispert than most others.
I agree getting under the 2nd apron isn't that big of a deal for Milwaukee. Like others I see their roster becoming cheaper over the next two years with the expirations of Lopez and Middleton.
But Kispert - I think is just a hidden gem.
He's an efficiency darling posting a 66% and 62% TS% the past two years overall.
Whether playing 20 minutes or 30+ the efficiency is always good. His minutes and points always go up in the 2nd half of the year. I don't think he's ever gotten a full-on fair shake in Washington as other roster moves have kind of always blocked him from getting the opportunity of others young players.
He's not limited to only 3-point shooting like a Gary Trent Jr.
Would I like him more on a version of the Bucks that still had Jrue Holiday rather than Lillard - yeah, but that's over and done with.
A lot of players around Giannis might be getting pretty old, but Giannis himself is still only 29 years old.
Adding Kispert is a good move for adding an under-the-radar, good player, who's best years are ahead of him.
Giannis doesn't care about a 2031 pick - and until he's not there, every move should be made to appease and win with Giannis.

Kispert is not the upgrade over these players that is worth compromising even more picks

Easy yes for Washington but that pick has the potential to be way too valuable for Milwaukee to do this. At the very least it would need to be better protected.

Agreed. Washington would jump at this and not think twice!

Change the first to a second and I guess I'd do it. I wouldn't be excited about it though.

He tend to forget that the Bucks will have FRPS just not tradeable FRPS. You can't trade picks in consecutive years. So if getting a young player with that much upside warrants giving up a FRP I'd do it in a heartbeat especially when you'll also have to replace Middleton in 2 more years

Goodness I've never seen a 1st rounder 7 years out be valued this much ... If Kispert was on the table this isn't enough value. Other teams could beat a 2031 1st rounder for sure. Let him ball out, he'll get an extension worth whatever but surely in a year or 2 if they wanted to move on from him they'd get more than 1 future 1st rounder years out.

The fact that it’s 7 years out is what makes the pick valuable. Giannis will be 37 and Dame/Khris/Lopez will be out of the league.
