It's the most competitive team that USA will face.

No I get what you mean but in general, this notion that CC isn't at fault for people fumbling her passes? I can't agree with that.

She is the passer at the end of the day. If people have been not been able to reel in her passes since college, that's her fault.

She can't be at fault for all of them.

Most of her turnovers are 100% deserved, but on occasion I just don't get what WNBA scorekeepers are doing. This was one of those times. If it's a passer's fault when a player drops a ball that hits both of her hands, when her hands are in the middle of her body, with no defender interfering ... say what?

To switch gears, that was a lot of fun. Obviously, if the USA took its B team to the Olympics, it would also be a heavy favorite. Those women can play.

I do feel like the biggest Olympic snubs shined the brightest.

Nneka deserves a shout out for coming out on fire and setting the tone for the WNBA team.

Arike obvious MVP, and while I was wowed by her play, I also found it less enjoyable than when they were outplaying them as a team.

Clark will always be known for her 3s (funny she didn’t get one in an all star game), but realizing more and more that her passing is probably even more special. The pace she added to the game was a big past of what made it fun, and the infamous turnovers…only 2. You can tell the difference with these all star level players being more talented and able to handle some of her passes. Definitely saw at least two that her normal teammates probably bungle, but Jonquel and can’t remember who the other player was who caught one in the corner - were able to handle them with aplomb.

I feel like Stewie is one of the quietest killers. For some reason I feel like I look down and doesn’t seem like she’s doing all that much. I look up and she has gone for a dozen in no time and has 25-30.

Many other shout outs, and notables, but just a super fun competitive game.

Yeah I didn't. I know someone else won MVP. Just saying these 2 should be on Team USA. They are the reason people are paying attention.

Taurasi old as dirt and she's only on the team for her past accomplishments. At least LeBron is still a top 10 player at his age so he actually deserved his spot. Taurasi not so much and she's the biggest hater.

Clark makes plenty of poor/risky passes, but that argument is looking to throw Shane Falco under the bus for throwing to Clifford Franklin. There needs to be a little more middle ground here. It's unfortunate that turnovers lack an added context stat like drops. Or errors for a pitcher so as not to record a hit when it's on the defense.

Also, that second half. Arike. Damn.

People say Rodman, and sure I get it, but I’m going to stay with my personal Joakim Noah comp for Angel.

Plays with insane passion, fire, relentless, a winner (NCAA champs)…but why I like Noah more as a comp than Rodman is the unshakably confident, outspoken, and charismatic personality. Rodman was a big personality, yes, but was a cuckoo. Angel’s nothing like that.

Both being Chicago players is the final touch on why I like the comp. Noah’s easily one of the most beloved Bulls of all time, and Angel’s well on her way to being that for the Sky.

Team USA: "We didn't play our real game or defense"

Which is true, but it's going to look like an excuse

This is an exhibition game so it's honestly not that big of a deal. They got their asses busted tonight tho

Doesn't matter.

Mens TEAM USA won by 1 point on the last possession against South Sudan in an exhibition. No excuses at the world stage when you're the U-S-A! The moment Team USA is okay with close games and exhibitions is when they lose their edge.

So the person who won the MVP, and scored 34 in a half during this actually competitive game, withdrew her name from consideration because she saw the writing on the wall that she wasn’t going to get picked.

I wish Caitlin was selected. Her not being selected isn’t some egregious crime. Especially back when the selections were actually made.

Team WNBA outpaced Team USA. Watching Team USA, it looked like only a handful of their players could play at the pace Team WNBA was setting.

Ogunbowale basically gave the middle finger to the Team USA selection committee last night. I have no idea what is going on behind the scenes that would cause Ogunbowale to withdraw her name from consideration, but the Team USA organization needs to fix that stuff, and quick.

Olympic selection committee (person?) looking like a fool. Nothing surprising about that result

It’s a shame they couldn’t do this format for the men’s USA team cause they’d get the brakes beat off them by 50 to be fair

She withdrew because she felt that they were looking moreso for the right fit roster wise as opposed to just picking the 12 best names. Which is what USA Basketball is doing on the men's side as well, otherwise Derrick White would have never been picked to replace Leonard over Jaylen Brown.

I don't see how this is an indictment of Team USA's selection process. Arike is more of a ball dominant/high volume scoring 2. That's probably not really needed when you have nuclear weapons like A'ja, Stewie, etc on the squad. If you listen to Arike's reasoning, it was actually a very thoughtful and mature decision she made.

People also need to realize that the women's team are at disadvantage because they had a later start compared to other teams in the tourney. This was literally their first tune up game, and it came against a team that would most likely be able to win gold themselves.

That being said...Arike absolutely wanted to show them that she is a frickin monster when she's locked in

I still can't get over the uniform switch at half time. Whoever thought of that idea on Team WNBA's side is a demon
