Best offer for Podziemski
So the Jazz and Warriors scrapping over this dude like he is something special.
I like him just fine, but if I'm the Jazz he isn't a deal breaker. I'm fine saying, 'Fine you keep him, we will take Kuminga and Moody instead"
So maybe I'm under valuing Podz. I thought I'd ask here what folks would be willing to pay for him from their team.
So make an offer!

"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

I think Kuminga is valued higher by both teams but is off table so Jazz are demanding second best young player - Podz.

Re: Best offer for Podziemski
The critical reason that the Warriors want to keep him is that he is real cheap for the next three years. Assuming Kuminga is traded for Markkanan, and Markkanen is resigned for max money or close to it, they really need some cheap depth to round out the roster.

Doubt the Jazz want Kuminga or Podz that much, but they’re learning from the Gobert and Mitchell trade that the more you can damage a team whose picks you have, the better.
As many picks and swaps as they got for both, neither the Cavs nor T-Wolves look destined to fall off for awhile. Minny’s ownership situation may flip that, but maybe not. Just don’t look like Ainge is getting another Nets Prokorov situation.
Post Steph, a Lauri/JK/Podz core don’t seem like much, but one star looking to jump could change that and lessen the value of the picks the Jazz get in that deal. Ainge just trying to lower the Warriors long term prospects. It’s a smart play, but don’t mean GS should agree to it.

I'd offer something around Towns for Podz-Filler-Picks [2025 + 2027 so the worse picks].
I think Podz has incredible potential and is a super glue guy. Brent Barry in the modern era.

I'm not a fan of Towns, but I think GS should jump on this.

You're crazy. Didn't you hear Lacob? Podz is a future All-Star.

The Jazz have leaked over and over again that they think Kuminga sucks.
It's not clear why they're doing this, but literally everything from Ainge leaking is that he really wants Podz and really does not like Kuminga.
And you could argue this is a smokescreen or a way to make Jazz fans feel better about not getting Kuminga... Except Ainge hasn't done a successful smokescreen in the last 22 months and has leaked all of his actual opinions well before the moves happened.
The Jazz leaked that they desperately wanted Cody Williams five weeks before the draft, lol.

It honestly doesn't surprise me that the Jazz would rather have Podz than Kuminga. He's got a higher floor and he's got a lot longer before he needs to get paid. And his rookie year was much better than JK's.

This is asinine to me.
Podz is clearly substantially better now. He has a skill-sets which scales incredibly well (Good shooter, Good Passer, High IQ, Good Rebounder).
Kuminga is athletic and a strong finisher --cool. Can he pass? No. Can he defend? We need to see more of it. Can he shoot? Couldn't hit the side of a barn.

That athleticism gives him some upside though.

No doubt. Shooting, playmaking and rebounding also provide upside.

JK is all about what could be. He's shown flashes of the swing skills that would make him a star (mostly outside shooting and defense), but hasn't done them consistently and there's no guarantee he ever will. But if he does, his ceiling is higher than Podz.
Podz on the other hand already looks like an elite complimentary player, especially for a team that already has a franchise 2 guard like Ant. Because of his size/athletic limitations he's probably never going to be a star but it's easy to see how he carves out a 10+ year career as a plus starter. Think Derrick White with better playmaking but less defense.

Given the bad blood between Wiggins and Minnesota, plus Minnesota's luxury tax issues, I don't see that reunion happening.

Re: Best offer for Podziemski
The Wolves could dump KAT for a lot more than Podz and filler. Podz is promising, but the Wolves have Ant and they just added Dillingham. You could play Podz at the 3 or move Ant to the 3, but both the POBO and HC like playing big. Podz is just not what we are looking for.

Dillingham is very clearly significantly worse than Podz now and will likely be worse than Podz for their entire careers, unless Dillingham hits one the upper-echelon of his potential.
The deal proposed also included 2 1sts with Pods, which is a far cry from Podz + Filler.
I think Podz is exactly the type of player the Timberwolves want--high skill, playmaking and passing, shooting and rebounding.
