Lakers/Jazz/Raps - Lakers reload using an AR
Lakers Trade: A. Reaves, D. Russell, G. Vincent
Receive: B. Brown, K. George, J. Clarkson, W. Kessler
Utah Trades: K. George, J. Clarkson, W.Kessler, future 2nd rd pick
Receive: A. Reaves, G. Vincent
Raps Trade: B. Brown
Receive: D. Russell, future Utah 2nd
Why for Lakers?
Lakers swap 3 guards and get better rotation fits in both short and long term. Brown can fit right now as a starting wing - and gives lakers more flexibility if James will play 3 or 4. Kessler is a needed legit 5 who can protect AD. Clarkson and George can compete for starting 1 slot.
Lakers need more depth - at the wings and guards - and do so in this move.
Why for Jazz?
Reaves is the best young talent in the trade and the Jazz consolidate to get him. Utah already drafted a number of PGs and have Sexton. Clarkson and George are more expendable and netting Reaves to pair with Cody long term feels worthy.
Why for Raps?
Toronto is looking to move BB and could use an extra asset and an easily moveable expiring in Russell. D-Lo can also kind of fit as a backup combo guard and makes sense in a backcourt alongside Quick with both able to play both on and off the ball.

Why are the Lakers adding George? He does nothing for them.

No for the Jazz. A HARD no. Like thanks but please lose my number, sort of no.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Might be fine value for the Raps, but Dlo does nothing for us. Probably pouts coming off the bench and even if he didnt, he takes away minutes from guys we're looking to develop.

Utah hangs up and starts yelling "Prank call" like the guy in Pulp Fiction.
New York said Mitchell wasn't the guy you trade the sink for, then they traded it for Mikal, lol.

I wouldn't consider this at all for Utah. Reaves is also 7 years older than Williams, so I don't understand the justification at all.

Reaves is not going for role players. It would be for a player upgrade.

Trying to gauge if reaves equals George/kessler/clarkson..sounds like it doesn’t.
How about just George/kessler? Collins/Rui can perhaps be swapped to make the salaries work?

Re: Lakers/Jazz/Raps - Lakers reload using an AR
This is probably a bad take, but I'd rather have year 2 George than Reaves if I'm the Jazz. I think his upside is much higher.
Clarkson for Vincent? That negative as it's an extra year of a player they don't want.
And then the Jazz are just giving Walker Kessler + 2nd for nothing. This is really really bad for Utah.
Lots of trades of Lakers just getting good players for free. Those days don't feel realistic anymore

I wouldn't trade George/Kessler for Reaves, that's the problem. It makes no sense unless we were adding a star in another deal. Even then, I think we are losing on value.

Jazz gets bend over on this one. No saving honestly, George is move valuable for Utah than for the Lakers, Reaves way more valuable to Lakers than Jazz. Kessler for free too makes little sense
