They're probably going to juice his trade value to start the season to try to see if the Knicks, Pelicans, or Suns get desperate enough to bite considering how good his contract is.

3 SRPs got the Knicks the 34th pick in this year's draft to select Tyler Kolek. I wouldn't necessarily assume those future SRPs are going to be good. Likely? Sure. But let's call that Kessler's "floor" in terms of value. A top-20 protected FRP sounds about right for him, and I'm not sure how Jazz fans can argue otherwise when he only started a third of the games he played in.
And I think the Lakers' desire to add a center is to free up Anthony Davis. Davis can absolutely play PF. He might not be ideal against a stretch 4, but he can certainly play it and if it keeps him from having to bang with physical centers then it might be worth it. Personally, I'm not paying much for that.
