They're probably going to juice his trade value to start the season to try to see if the Knicks, Pelicans, or Suns get desperate enough to bite considering how good his contract is.

I also don't understand Laker fans trying to add a center to this team. Davis cannot play PF at all anymore.

3 SRPs got the Knicks the 34th pick in this year's draft to select Tyler Kolek. I wouldn't necessarily assume those future SRPs are going to be good. Likely? Sure. But let's call that Kessler's "floor" in terms of value. A top-20 protected FRP sounds about right for him, and I'm not sure how Jazz fans can argue otherwise when he only started a third of the games he played in.

And I think the Lakers' desire to add a center is to free up Anthony Davis. Davis can absolutely play PF. He might not be ideal against a stretch 4, but he can certainly play it and if it keeps him from having to bang with physical centers then it might be worth it. Personally, I'm not paying much for that.

Kessler only started 1/3 of his games last year because we have an extremely stupid team.

Davis also... cannot play the 4 at all on offense. That's the point.

So you can't simultaneously argue that he's a valuable player, yet not play the guy. If Kessler is as good as Jazz fans' are claiming he is, he'd be playing. It's not like the Jazz are that flush with talent, and the Jazz aren't going to waste Kessler's rookie contract. And Davis absolutely can play the 4, arguing otherwise is nonsensical.

No, Davis cannot play the 4 well, he can't shoot.

Ironic. Folks often talk about how good of a shooter AD is. But he shot 27% last year and is a career under30% 3-point shooter.

Giannis a career 28.6% 3P% plays the 4, Paola Banchero a career 32.0% 3P%, etc. Is he better at the 5? Absolutely. Can he play the 4? Absolutely.

Giannis is an elite level shot creator, LA fans are so weird.

I'm sorry AD is a 4/5 tweener who has to play the 5 because of his lack of offense, but is defensively better at the 4, but uhhhhh... That's just the truth.

And I'm out. We've gotten to the point where AD can't shoot and apparently now he can't move...
