Kuminga and Rudy is a terrible fit. Both need to be inside to operate, both are non shooters. KAT is not a negative value player, he is an all star. Even if you wanna argue that Podz has Hali value (doubtful,) and that KAT’s value is as low as Sabonis with the Pacers (it’s higher,) you still have the Wolves taking back bad money in Wiggins and only Kuminga to compensate. You also have us giving up Miller who is still valuable, and Minott who could be rotation worthy. This is beyond a non starter. You would need to add so much to get this done that no team involved would agree.
Yeah. IMO Kuminga being a bad fit with Rudy doesn’t make him less valuable? And never said Minnesota would end up keeping Wiggins and Kuminga. They likely wouldn’t. That doesn’t change the value they get back..
Even if you just used all of Kuminga’s value to dump Wiggins completely (which would be stupid and not realistic) using Utah or some other team- you’d still have more value than your acknowledging for some reason.
I am lost, in the quote above it seems you have Minnesota keeping both. You said “Wolves in Wiggins, Kuminga, Looney, Podz.” If this is not the case then what are you proposing?
I’m sure you’ll like my one suggestion less.. but my actual quote was
Minnesota - KAT, Minnot, Miller
Minnesota - Wiggins, Kuminga, Looney, Podz
Trims 7-8 million, fills last roster spot..
Then you start looking for a fourth team.. I was looking at Grant. But ymmv
Which would mean Wiggins doesn’t end up back in Minnesota, which seems like it would be a mutual wish between the team and Wiggins, right?
So Wiggins+salary+value out and a good fitting player back in. Whether the salary+value is Looney and a first or Kuminga or Kuminga+Wiggins and two firsts..
I went Grant and keeping more value in Minnesota obviously, but again didn’t even write out the fourth team.. My only point in this chain is Minnesota should take the value win of the idea and figure out how they want to balance it.
