Rarely does a player play in their home city or state. Yeah there are some that returns because of family etc. but it's not a true narrative in the league. If we were a floundering team... Yes... The possibility of it might actually have increased. But we are establishing some greatness right now.... So I don't see that as an issue to be honest.

Trade him asap for as much as you can get. We made the mistake of trying to keep Dwight after his people had a deal with Brooklyn. Instead, they made a deal with Boston and ended up with Tatum and Brown. By the time we traded Dwight, he was in the last year of his deal and less valuable.

You and I are remembering that Dwight trade very differently. Dwight was on a tear that year (shorten season) he was a monster defensively and would have won his 4th DPOY if it wasn’t for the Dwightmare. He was an all star, All-NBA, 1st team defense, and finished 7th in MVP votes. He wasn’t less valuable even with everything going on.

Go Magic, Go Dwight, Go Vuc, Go Paolo, Go Keegan :)

Kobe was not "born and raised" in Philly. He spent a significant amount of time (7 years I believe) in Italy before heading back to the states for high school in Philly.

PB gonna demand a trade to Seatle when he is 38 and won multiple championship with us. By then I would be willing to accept a 1st round pick from them.

No state tax in Washington (Seattle). Sonics will be back, lots of buzz, etc. If I were him and I loved home, I'd go back too. I'm making good money here in Punta Gorda but would go to back home to Orlando in a heartbeat

You’re the one who started this whole mess by creating that post when he was first drafted. Now you have that in so many people’s heads. I’m so confused why you want this kid off the team.

ESPN's latest power rankings provide a snapshot of how offseason moves and team dynamics are expected to shape the upcoming season. Some notable implications:

* Orlando and Cleveland both fall two spots. Running it back and relying on internal improvement isn't up to snuff.
* Philly jumps 4 spots. They are rewarded for their retool around Embiid.
* Pacers jump 1 spot, buying into their postseason success and a healthy Haliburton.
* Out West, Grizzlies are the big risers and LA teams are the big fallers.

Eastern Conference:
1. Boston Celtics
2. New York Knicks
3. Philadelphia 76ers ▲ 4
4. Milwaukee Bucks ▼ 1
5. Indiana Pacers ▲ 1
6. Cleveland Cavaliers ▼ 2
----------------------------
7. Orlando Magic ▼ 2
8. Miami Heat
9. Atlanta Hawks ▲ 1
10. Toronto Raptors ▲ 2
----------------------------
11. Chicago Bulls ▼ 2
12. Charlotte Hornets ▲ 1
13. Detroit Pistons ▲ 2
14. Washington Wizards
15. Brooklyn Nets ▼ 4

Western Conference:
1. Oklahoma City Thunder
2. Minnesota Timberwolves ▲ 1
3. Dallas Mavericks ▲ 2
4. Denver Nuggets ▼ 2
5. Phoenix Suns ▲ 1
6. Memphis Grizzlies ▲ 7
----------------------------
7. New Orleans Pelicans ▲ 1
8. Sacramento Kings ▲ 1
9. Golden State Warriors ▲ 1
10. Los Angeles Lakers ▼ 3
----------------------------
11. Los Angeles Clippers ▼ 7
12. Houston Rockets ▼ 1
13. San Antonio Spurs ▲ 1
14. Utah Jazz ▼ 2
15. Portland Trail Blazers

I'm not making it up this is what kobe himself said in one of his interviews but hey i guess technically you are right, but the fact remains never played for philly....never played for Italy either

Let's remember how good those expansion teams are.. PB will be in his prime, he can't waste years in an expansion franchise. He can go there when he's 32 and sign a nice fat contract then.

I'm starting to believe the conspiracy theorists who say that Weltman's A1 priority is securing his own job for as long as possible. He's figured out the secret sauce.

But yeah, pretty meh offseason but not the worst either. KCP is a good pickup. Extending Franz is fine. Isaac is a massive gamble. Harris is lol. Being careful about a Suggs extension is smart. Overall the team will only improve as much as Banchero and Wagner improve. Is that two wins? Four? Ten? Who knows.

Long term this team as presently constructed will not win a championship, though, so something has to happen at some point. Right?

Well the team improved 12 wins from 2022 to 2023, and then 13 wins from 2023 to 2024. So clearly the Magic should be 14 wins better this year and the team will have a 61-11 record. The maths is quite simple, after all.

Feels like any one of these teams could get the 4 seed and homecourt in round 1.

Return to Orlando Magic
