I know some knicks fans like to argue just to argue, and even if we come to understand each other's positions we may not agree, but if you'd ever like to discuss this in good faith, I am curious about the specifics of why say this. Largely I'm curious whether you think that the best defenses can do whatever it is they can do to shut Julius down in the playoffs AND throw the kitchen sink at Brunson?
Cause that's where I'm just not as bothered as some folks by the possibility that Julius will forever be a regular season innings eater that can be schemed out of a series even when healthy...if a team has one of the elite defensive bigs like Bam or Mobley. Teams just can't do what the Hawks did to leave Julius shook unless they're happy for Jalen to average 40+.
Julius is certainly limited by not having that super-elite level of skill that someone like Zion has, which is why he needs Brunson to be the guy in crunchtime. But as that 2nd option who carries things more at the start of games, when Jalen is still figuring a defense out / getting his rhythm, or one who just occupies an opponent's best defensive big?
