Malcolm Brogdon is highly likely to begin the regular season with the Wizards. All that talk about Washington intending to immediately re-route Brogdon after Deni Avdija’s trade to Portland was premature. Brogdon can still play effectively, and he did a good job last season as a mentor to the Trail Blazers’ youngsters. Wizards executives see a benefit to having him on the roster.
So welcome to DC Malcolm Brogdon

I like him as a mentor for Bub Carrington. Both have a physical if floorbound game, using shifty dribbles and craftiness to get open. Both use their body well to protect the dribble or bump a guy off to clear space for their shot. Brogdon has the outside shot and inside finishing skills that Bub has not displayed. I'd love to see the two of them on court together at times to see how they can play off each other. I think both will work well with Jonas setting picks.
Funny. If we hang on to Anthony Gill even as a developmental coach, these two were teammates for 3 years at Virginia. So you know they know how to play defense, and possibly help to coach it.
