I don't care who they get. I want to see Randle with this squad and a floor spacing 5. If we have to trade him, it has to be for something good. I am just getting impatient amd the Yankees are pissing me off!!

precious is going in a trade. pretty clearly IMO

If they can find one.

It appears the KNICKS are waiting for something to happen -- except, nobody of interest has become available.

also to note a Precious decision has to come in the next week or so. Because if the Knicks do sign him they can't trade him for 6 months which pushes them right up against the trade deadline date. You just cant sign someone and then trade someone quickly. So if they do not find a S&T he basically is on the team up until the trade deadline they just can't risk going over the date so the 6 months come after the trade deadline.

February 6th is 6 months and 13 days away. They have to do something soon. It leads me to believe they are trying to find a trade to include him in first. I suppose they could wait until August 3rd. That's the big date for Randles extension. It would leave them up against the deadline for sure.

Something is up with this scenario though. I don't see what Precious would gain from waiting to help is in a S&T. What are we waiting for?

Probably, our offer is the highest. Maybe we already closed a verbal agreement of giving him a 30/3 contract anyway. We only don't know if we will sign and trade him or if he stays on the team for the time being,

We have 13.5 left under the cap and 2 spots left? This is dragging out to the last minute. I can't help but think something with him and Randle and/or another player is either in the works or, they are trying to find something that works and nothing is popping up. Within he next ten days or so something has to happen.

I don't think the date is accurate.

I think the rule for re-signing using birds' rights is 90 days after the beginning of the season. January, 15th, in any scenario. If there are not birds rights in use: 60 days into the season (December, 15th).

The 6 months restrictions are specific about extensions given to players still under contract.

This is the slowest time of the year. The FO has to be working on something but what and for who?

Just sign Precious and shuffle Hukporti and Skap back and forth between the Knicks and WC until we see what we have in them. I really like our squad as is. Sometimes tinkering too much isn’t a good idea either.

It's sad that many people want Julius gone, if he was in another team this fanbase would mostly likely view him as the perfect player to get in a trade lol

I'm pretty sure everyone wants Randle back .. especially on a contract extension that's on par with Brunson's. Knicks want to build a contender and achieve sustainable success.

From a business standpoint it might not be the best idea to give him 50 to 60 mil per year.

He's not getting any younger, so in the middle of that contract is he going to look more like an aging Carmelo or more like an aging LeBron?

His defense is not good now, how will his defense look 3 years from now?

Will his contract be tradeable if they have to pivot?

You need to make every effort to bring Randle back, but these are real factors to consider when deciding on what you're willing to pay.

Maybe they win a championship next year and then that changes everything
