I'm only one episode deep into Shogun but I can already tell this is going to be a hell of a ride

I'd have to think about all the other shows, but Shogun is probably my favorite show I watched this year. I don't think that's really a hot take either.

I do really want to watch Ripley at some point though.

I don't know where it'll end up in my rankings, but my wife and I are currently watching Dead Boy Detectives and it's quite good so far.

I've read Shogun several times and I have no interest in the series.

Makes no sense. Especially since I know it's good.

I'll probably get to it at some point.

Only question I have is whether it's a one-off or will there be a 2nd season and beyond?

Hopefully the former.

It ended up doing so well the producers changed course and decided to do multiple seasons.

I assume it's quite violent? I'd like to watch it with one of my daughters, because I know she'd like it, but she's only 11.

A couple pretty grizzly deaths, yea. People being boiled and some graphic seppuku. You can see it coming though.

Not a terrible list. I've seen everything on here but for Tales of the Jedi and The Acolyte (which I just started).

I'd bump up Clone Wars, Rebels, The Mandalorian and Revenge of the Sith to their next respective tier, and bump down The Force Awakens, Solo, The Phantom Menace, and TLJ down a tier.

My top 5:

5) Rebels
4) ANH
3) Clone Wars
2) ESB

AV Club, Indiewire, Gizmodo, Polygon, all calling it average at best. But the worst thing about it is that it's inconsequential. I thought this was going to be the movie that saved the MCU, and it turns out it's a pointless standalone.

Dan Murrel has what would seem to be a pretty good review of it. Granted if your looking for more then a stand alone movie it sounds like you'll be disappointed.

Not sure why you'd expect more then a stand alone from a Deadpool movie but if so then I guess ya it won't be for you

I've never been the biggest Deadpool fan, admittedly. The first one was a fine novelty, and I don't remember Deadpool 2 at all. But I feel like the hype was this was going to be the MCU's big comeback. It's the 43rd ranked Marvel movie on Metacritic at the moment, sitting a spot above Thor 2 and a spot below Iron Man 2. It's below Thor: Love and Thunder, which is one of the biggest pieces of **** I've ever paid to see.

I mean the hype was for Hugh Jackman playing Wolverine in a Deadpool movie and for the amount of easter egg/cameos that will be in it. Seems like your hoping the movie was gonna be something it never set out to be.

From the reviews I've seen if your a fan of the previous Deadpool movies you'll love this. (You aren't so you probably wont)

Deadpool was never gonna be some linchpin for the MCU though. It just isn't what the character (or the movies) is/are

I mean the end credits of Deadpool 2 completely retconned the igniting point of Deadpool 2 lol. Deadpool is a stand alone franchise and obviously won't be for everyone

Google "Deadpool" and "save the MCU". It's a thing.

Matthew Vaughn:

“The few snippets that I know about ‘Deadpool vs. Wolverine’ — or ‘Wolverine vs. Deadpool,’ I’m sure that argument between Ryan and Hugh is happening as we speak — are unbelievable,” Vaughn said. “That’s going to be the jolt…the Marvel universe is about to have a jolt of them and it’s going to bring that body back to life…I think Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are about to save the whole Marvel Universe.

I don't think my expectations were off. They were set pretty high.

Deadpool was fun, Deadpool 2 could’ve been great but they went off script and ruined it, incredibly disappointing. I’m expecting this one to be massively overindulgent with some fun mixed in. Its a shame really, marvel has decades of good storylines and hollywood grabs the save the world ones that were tedious in the comics and then changes the story to make it more acceptable to the masses while the fanbase turns ambivalent
Shoot, Move, and Communicate...

It always felt to me like people were hoping Deadpool would bring excitement back to Marvel while being mostly standalone vs. the idea of it being some sort of new epicenter of the MCU.

Doing a rewatch of GoT. First time seeing it in 4K/HDR and it's so incredibly pretty. A couple episodes in and multiple times have found myself muttering what a good-ass show this was.

Heartened to find out one of my favorite videos is still online.

Early seasons of GOT is GOAT for me, nothing compares and how it ended doesn't change that for me

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
