Barkley
KG
Dirk
Giannis
Malone

(Admiting that it is abslutely impossible for me to perfectly seperate the player Malone was from the human he has been)

I see them all quite in the same tier. Always thought Chuck was the best of the bunch and could have won some with a little more help.

I will take out Giannis because he still has chance to move up. My personal list:

Dirk: Best player on championship team. And he beat Lebron, Wade, and Bosh. Also made it to the Finals as the best player on the team and lost to Shaq and Wade.
Malone: I think Malone and Stockton are both underrated on this board. Still, he was the best PF in the NBA for a decade. He made it to two Finals and lost to Jordan like everyone else during that time. He was also a great defensive player.
Barkley: Took a Suns team to the Finals as best player and hit some big shots during that run. Undersized, but somehow a better rebounder and more efficient scorer than KG.
KG: Great defensive player. Offensively never a number #1 guy. In 12 years with the T-Wolves only got past the first round of the playoffs one season. I think he's good, but obviously needed a guy who could get a bucket on offense. The other three guys on the list were the guys on their teams who got those big buckets.

Dirk owned KG h2h. He always got the best of him.

Dirk's ring is also way more impressive than KG's. I don't see how anyone can rank KG above Dirk.

It's KG right now, it'll likely be Giannis by the end of his career.

Having watched a whole lot of every single one of these guys, I think Giannis has already peaked highest. His Finals performance after hurting the knee was one of the really special stretches in NBA history. He absolutely dominated on both ends in a way nobody else on this list could come close to -- Barkley, Malone, and Dirk could do it on offense, KG could do it on defense, but none did anything like Giannis on both sides of the basketball.

That said, Giannis has had some rough luck with his own health and especially Middleton's. Middleton's decline lead to the big swing for Lillard, which in theory could still pan out, but is looking like a last gasp -- especially as Lopez ages out. That combination of factors I think has taken the shine off Giannis' reputation. But I believe he's the best player on this list and may want to force his way out of Milwaukee while he still has a chance at a winning final chapter.

1. Nowitzki
2. Garnett
3. Malone
4. Antetokounmpo
5. Barkley

But if I had to bet, I'd expect Giannis to end up at number one. This ranking is just on what he's done so far.

KG >> Giannis > Dirk > Malone >> Barkley

Giannis and Dirk are REAL close for 2nd though. I have them #14 and #15 on my all-time list. I feel like I moved Giannis ahead of Dirk when it seemed like he had an inevitable upward trajectory. After 2 more years derailed by injuries while starting to show signs of decline, I’m kinda questioning that. It makes you wonder if durability is too much of an Achilles heel for Giannis for him to be ranked that high.

Actually, **** it, I’m switching them. Giannis has more postseasons ended early by injury than he does getting past the second round. He’s got work to do to earn that spot.

KG >> Dirk > Giannis > Malone >> Barkley

Giannis peaked higher and I'm not a huge fan of his.

If we consider longevity Dirk has an argument but he dominated one side of the court not two. KG was great on defense and excellent on offense bu not a finisher. Barkley and Malone didn't win it all, that's disqualifying like it or not.

In a theoretical alien invasion game for all the marbles I definitely am taking peak Giannis, he's in the Shaq class of athlete to me where nobody can handle him. None of those other guys could just dismantle teams in a playoff run like Giannis did.
Rest in peace Kobe & Gianna

LOL, please enlighten us. What do people like about KG off the court? I don’t have the slightest idea. Was it his cameo in Hustle? It can’t be how long he stayed loyal to he Wolves since 3 of the guys he’s competing with spent their whole careers with one team. I really have no idea.

How about the fact that he has the second best career of the last 26 years by some of the most reliable metrics we have? How about that he has the best combination of defense and passing in NBA history while also ranking 22nd all-time in points?

What’s not to like about KG’s game? The only way you can disrespect him is to completely ignore defense or to just reduce everything to how good someone’s team is regardless of who’s on the team or how well said team performs when a player is actually on the floor.

Feels weird to compare Giannis to dudes who played forever at this stage. Actually Barkley is fine, I have Giannis ahead now given chuck wasn't much after his early thirties.

KG, Dirk then the POS that impregnated a 12 year old as an adult.

Well, add there Tim Duncan and I think you have 6 best PF in the last 30 years (or in history not sure what position is Moses Malone listed).
Very difficult. IMHO (alphabetically)

Antetokounmpo - still has time to improve, very dominant, changed Bucks to a contending team
Barkley - the one that made rules changed (that explains his dominance!)
Did play with some border line allstars (respect to Kevin Johnson and Dan Majerle) but never won a chip (his biggest burden)
Garnett - spent most of his career in very weak Timberwolves but was an AllStar. Scarified his #1 star spot for ring in Boston, creating big 3 with Ray Allen and Paul Pierce.
Malone - one of the greatest scorers of all time, played with his "Robin" John Stockton for most of career sold his soul for one last try to get a ring with Lakers, but still with Shaq, Kobe and Gary Payton felt short to one of the biggest upsets (Defense won) in recent history. Not sure the reason, but Malone wasn´t even dressed for the last game (5). Maybe if Russell played better defense on that one last action...
Nowitzki never liked the guy, or his Mavericks, but i have to give him credit for ruining the beautiful game of basketball. He was the pioneer of todays 3 point game, one of the firs big ones that took that many trees. Along with Jason Terry, Jason Kidd and Shawn Marion defeated the mighty 3 of Heat . Played whole career as a Maverick

That said, if going for a winner got to go with Nowitzki and Antetokounmpo. Barkley and Malone never won a ring, Garnett managed what Barkley and Malone did not manage (come to a club with 2 superstars and won a chip).
Got to say I never liked Jordan, but those years, it was very difficult to win anything (2 times Pistons, 6 times Bulls, 2 times Rockets).
Going by heart and overall (not giving ponder to ring) for me it is Barkley, Malone, Garnett. Just realized this has no sense at all! ;)
But going by stats it has to be :

1. Antetokounmpo (1 ring, 1 Finals MVP, 2 MVP, 1 DPOY)
2. Nowitzki (1 ring, 2 Finals MVP)
3. Garnett (15 time AllStar, 12 time all-def, 1 DPOY)
4. Malone (14 time AllStar, 25 PPG, 10,1 TRB/G, 99 VORP)
5. Barkley (11 time AllStar 22,1 PPG, 11,7 TRB/G).

But interesting thing is Barkley is shortest, has most rebounds!

I feel like all of these guys are in the top 25. Although Giannis still might be top 30 with his most recent injury history IMO

KG ... Is an all time favourite among many of us here on realgm ... Is he a top 25 player? I say Yes
15-20 range

Malone ... Not many are fans of him due to (off court history plz stay away) but he Is around the 18-25 range

Dirk ... Is around the 20-25 rank range

Barkley ... While I love Barkley his more around the 30-40 range

Giannis ... His still playing and It's hard to tell where he'll end up, atm no way his a top 25 all time, maybe In today's game but not all time ... I'd place him between 50-75 range atm ... The top 75 range Is a tough list
My Go Team
Magic, Jordan, Bird, Duncan, Shaq

My Counter
Stockton, Kobe, Pippen, Rodman, Dirk

Today's Team
Luka, SGA, Tatum, Giannis, Wemby

Duncan, his not on the list... But many people here on realgm and actual players/gms etc all place Duncan In their top 10 If not top 5.

I guess this why Op didn't include Duncan ;)

If you would list an all time best starting 5 (PG,SG,SF,PF, C) you would put KG in?
