KAT is a defensive liabiity no thank you
ayton has an effort liability.
which everyone can see on the court.
he also has an effort liability off the court where he wont leave his house because of bad weather.
ayton with less effort is still a much better defender than kat at his best. ayton guarded 18.5 shots a game per game while kat only guarded 13.5. opponents also shot better at the rim when contested by kat (0.4% better). opponents shot worse at the rim when contested by ayton (-1.4%).
those snow storms are wild in oregon though. i dont blame him for sitting that game out. those are dangerous

has kat ever had a playoff run like this where he was elite defensively? yet alone even average on defense?

Are there any rumors that AYTON is actually available?
He's a 35 M dollar salary I don't see how we can get that salary WITHOUT trading Randle unless we do something crazy like trade Mitchell Robinson (14M) , McBride (4.5M), Jeffries (2.5M), then resigned Achiwa for (14M). Maybe in some crazy 3 way deal.

Re: Trades and Transactions Thread Cont'd - Where the Center At?
Ayntin was an absolute touch queen in AZ and that was one of the major reasons he stopped giving effort on defense because he wasn't getting the touches he thought he deserved so what does one think he would feel about Thibs' center role and being the 4th or 5th option in the starting line up with the Knicks?
He'd be Randle on defense without the offensive skill set Randle has to create for himself and others.

It's interesting that yet another team is willing to ship him out isn't it?

How much are we actually allowed to give to Precious? Maybe we can combine him and Mitch and our remaining protected picks for someone at the trade deadline

Precious must have a wink wink deal already in place with the Knicks if they come up empty in their back center search.

Mitch (14 million to 3rd team)
Precious S&T to Blazers (13 million max allowed)
Deuce to Blazers
Vet min guy (likely Sims) to either Blazers or 3rd team
and get Ayton back that way without giving up Randle?
I'm sure that breaks some rule with new aprons lol. I'm still trying to feel my way around these things but I think the pure math adds up there? Unless i'm missing something
Would be a complicated structure obviously and highly improbable but nonetheless...
The problem is that that would take a net 2 players off the roster and the extra 2m in minimum salary to 2 non-first round rookies would put the Knicks over the second apron. I guess one could do something like this once you can trade Bates-Diop and Payne and replace them with non-first round rookies. But that doesn't seem a very Thibsian solution.

I’ve really been checking these threads everyday to see if we are trading for a backup center. I need to stop

Does anyone else find this new comment that people are making?
" Go get (insert name)"
I find the fad completely played out.
