26-JULY-2024: TOP 30 UNSIGNED FREE AGENTS

Post#1 » by TFJava » Fri Jul 26, 2024 6:43 am

Here is a list of the current NBA free agents that's still available. Who would you sign to help your team?

1. Tyus Jones / PG / Washington

A very safe floor general with an excellent assist-to-turnover ratio. But that lack of risk-taking makes him not all that impactful at times. Can do some scoring off the dribble but won’t make a ton of flash plays.

2023/24 stats: 12.0 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 7.3 apg, 48.9 FG%, 41.4 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $14,000,000
Career earnings: $48,846,623

2. Isaac Okoro / SF / Cleveland / Restricted

Energy wing who can defend at a high level in a multitude of positions. Streaky scorer, though, but he can do some scoring off of cuts and is turning into a very dependable outside shooter.

2023/24 stats: 9.4 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 1.9 apg, 49.0 FG%, 39.1 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $8,920,794
Career earnings: $20,162,520

3. Gordon Hayward / SF / Oklahoma City

Alonzo Adams-USA TODAY Sports

Veteran wing who can shoot, handle the ball and create for others, though not at the levels from his prime. Solid defender on the wing.

2023/24 stats: 9.8 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 3.1 apg, 46.4 FG%, 41.1 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $31,500,000
Career earnings: $239,422,778

4. Precious Achiuwa / C / New York

Energy big man who is extremely mobile. Not much of a scorer but can finish around the paint. An absolute pest of a defender in a great way.

2023/24 stats: 7.6 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 1.3 apg, 50.1 FG%, 26.8 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $4,379,526
Career earnings: $8,133,600

5. Lonnie Walker / SG / Brooklyn

Athletic guard with some pull-up scoring prowess. An inefficient scorer, though, due to an inconsistent jumper. Does play with a lot of energy.

2023/24 stats: 9.7 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 1.3 apg, 42.3 FG%, 38.4 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $2,346,614
Career earnings: $18,946,976

6. Luke Kennard / SG / Memphis

One of the better shooters in the league and an underrated player off the dribble, both as a scorer and creator. Tries on defense but short arms and average athleticism hamper him there.

2023/24 stats: 11.0 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 3.5 apg, 44.8 FG%, 45.0 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $14,763,636
Career earnings: $42,228,728

7. Cedi Osman / SF / San Antonio

Energy swingman who can do some slashing and spotting up from three.

2023/24 stats: 6.8 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 1.7 apg, 47.9 FG%, 38.9 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $6,718,842
Career earnings: $32,725,002

8. Talen Horton-Tucker / SG / Utah

Still young despite it feeling like forever ago when he was breaking out with the Lakers. Starting to show some promise as a combo guard scoring type with midrange scoring skills.

2023/24 stats: 10.1 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 3.5 apg, 39.6 FG%, 33.0 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $11,020,000
Career earnings: $22,176,291

9. Landry Shamet / SG / Washington
2023/24 stats: 7.1 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 1.2 apg, 43.1 FG%, 33.8 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $10,250,000
Career earnings: $29,309,422

10. Markelle Fultz / PG / Orlando

Solid midrange scorer who has a great first step and length, allowing him to finish around the basket. The problems arise when has to go to the foul stripe or shoot it from beyond the arc.

2023/24 stats: 7.8 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 2.8 apg, 47.2 FG%, 22.2 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $17,000,000
Career earnings: $70,400,017

11. Dennis Smith / PG / Brooklyn

Won’t ever live up to superstar potential as a prospect but has channeled his athleticism very well on defense, where he can be a real nuisance against opposing point guards.

2023/24 stats: 6.6 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 3.6 apg, 43.5 FG%, 29.4 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $2,528,233
Career earnings: $21,111,09

12. Doug McDermott / SF / Indiana

Still one of the best outside shooters in the league when he’s healthy but has missed a lot of games in his career due to injury.

2023/24 stats: 5.5 ppg, 0.9 rpg, 1.1 apg, 43.3 FG%, 41.0 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $13,750,000
Career earnings: $59,936,434

13. Jae Crowder / PF / Milwaukee

Experienced wing who can space the floor from three and has the toughness to play solid defense from time to time, despite getting up there in age.

2023/24 stats: 6.2 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 1.3 apg, 42.2 FG%, 34.9 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $3,196,448
Career earnings: $66,467,306

14. Marcus Morris / PF / Cleveland

Vet who can do the dirty work, space the floor from three, face-up and get under opponents’ skin.

2023/24 stats: 6.4 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 0.7 apg, 43.9 FG%, 40.3 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $17,116,279
Career earnings: $90,869,022

15. Devonte Graham / PG / Charlotte
2023/24 stats: 5.0 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 2.1 apg, 35.2 FG%, 30.1 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $12,100,000
Career earnings: $38,719,177

16. Jordan Goodwin / PG / Memphis

Guard who can play on or off the ball and do some scoring or creating off the bench.

2023/24 stats: 6.5 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 2.7 apg, 36.9 FG%, 29.8 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $2,208,045
Career earnings: $1,333,382

17. Evan Fournier / SG / Detroit

Three-level scorer who hasn’t shown much scoring over the past couple of seasons. Could he be headed overseas to finish out his career? Can’t be ruled out.

2023/24 stats: 6.9 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 1.5 apg, 35.7 FG%, 25.4 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $18,857,143
Career earnings: $126,999,101

18. Danuel House / SF

Floor-spacer on the wing with some cutting ability as a scorer. Decent deep bench option.

2023/24 stats: 4.2 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 0.8 apg, 44.8 FG%, 30.0 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $4,310,250
Career earnings: $17,227,972

19. Robert Covington / SF / Philadelphia

3-and-D swingman who has dealt with injuries and age-related regression over recent years.

2023/24 stats: 4.4 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 0.8 apg, 43.9 FG%, 33.9 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $11,692,308
Career earnings: $79,390,798

20 Bismack Biyombo / C / Oklahoma City

Shot-blocking specialist who won’t provide much else on either end of the floor, but can still have a role thanks to rim-protection.

2023/24 stats: 4.4 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 1.3 apg, 56.5 FG%, 48.1 FT%
2023/24 earnings: $5,000,000
Career earnings: $91,848,157

21. Danilo Gallinari / PF / Milwaukee

Vet forward who’s more of a power forward than a small forward these days. Can space the floor from three and do some face-up scoring but not at the levels of his prime.

2023/24 stats: 5.7 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 1.1 apg, 43.7 FG%, 32.3 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $6,802,950
Career earnings: $197,164,814

22. Justin Holiday / SG / Denver

Spot-up shooting guard who can play some defense.

2023/24 stats: 4.0 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 1.2 apg, 45.4 FG%, 40.4 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $3,196,448
Career earnings: $34,337,469

23. Killian Hayes / PG

Lefty guard with some quickness but still extremely raw despite his multiple seasons in the NBA. Poor feel for scoring and passing, inconsistent jumper.

2023/24 stats: 6.9 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 4.9 apg, 41.3 FG%, 29.7 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $7,413,955
Career earnings: $16,717,560

24. Malachi Flynn / PG / Detroit

Explosive scorer with a 50-point game under his belt. Was that a total fluke or a sign that he’s got more to offer than he’s shown so far? Confident pull-up shooter and ball-handler with swagger to his game.

2023/24 stats: 5.5 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 1.9 apg, 41.8 FG%, 33.1 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $3,873,024
Career earnings: $6,144,360

25. Troy Brown / SF / Detroit
2023/24 stats: 4.2 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.0 apg, 37.2 FG%, 33.3 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $4,000,000
Career earnings: $20,483,739

26. b]Tristan Thompson / C / Cleveland
Experienced center who’s lost a step athletically but can still give a team strong screens and some rebounding toughness down low. Can finish around the rim.

2023/24 stats: 3.3 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 1.0 apg, 60.8 FG%, 28.8 FT%
2023/24 earnings: $3,196,448
Career earnings: $118,659,914

27. Boban Marjanovic / C / Houston
Well-known center thanks to his size and likability, both on and off the court. But playing in the wrong era of the NBA, as he doesn’t provide switchability or floor-spacing. Can make some impact in limited minutes with finishing ability and paint protection.

2023/24 stats: 3.2 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 0.4 apg, 52.9 FG%, 64.3 FT%
2023/24 earnings: $2,891,467
Career earnings: $36,801,478

28 Omer Yurtseven / C / Utah
2023/24 stats: 4.6 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 0.4 bpg, 53.8 FG%, 20.8 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $2,800,000
Career earnings: $6,060,161

29. Anthony Gill / PF / Washington
Power forward with some shooting ability and ball-handling skills.

2023/24 earnings: $1,997,238
Career earnings: $4,252,381

30. Harry Giles / C / LA Lakers

Former superstar prospect who had injuries totally derail his career. Still retained some bounce, allowing him to be an around-the-basket finisher.

2023/24 stats: 2.1 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.3 apg, 46.0 FG%, 21.4 3P%
2023/24 earnings: $2,306,554
Career earnings: $8,265,804

Hayes just got signed!

As a Jazz fan, THT has some really interesting moments, but I don't think he should be on an NBA roster for now. He should go to Europe or Australia and iron out some of the bad decision making in a structured environment where he can get more reps.

Tyus is much better than this, he should get the MLE, no idea why he hasn't

I agree. But isn't this a Gary Trent Jr. situation?

The teams that need him dont have the money and he's too good just to take the taxMLE, so maybe he's taking a one-year deal (like Trent) and then hit the market in 2025?

Lakers should be all over this guy.

He's better the GTJ and plays a more important role, I also doubt someone paid Tyus 15M/yr and he said no, GTJ was offered that.

He might be a bit better, but not by much. Not sure who has both the need and money (MLE or more) to offer Tyus at this point.

I'm sure GTJ is pretty mad he didn't take the 15M/yr.

I think that Gordon Hayward and Jae Crowder on the cheap could add some solid depth for Golden State.

I would like OKC to resign Bismack Biyombo on the cheap. Just in case we some injuries and Isaiah Hartenstein is out. Biyombo adds depth and veteran experience in the locker room.

Pretty sure Precious and the Knicks have already worked out a deal but they’re just waiting to see if something comes up that they could need to s&t Achiuwa at a higher number, for.

There’s a non-zero chance that we get Hayes + Simmons minutes next season

Agreed, but I think the major issue is that Tyus was really looking for a starting spot. He's shown the ability to do that in stretches when Ja Morant missed time but it's really difficult to start Tyus and maintain a competent defense. That said I'm a fan of the guy and hope he can get to a good situation. The Wiz are stuck with Poole and the Poole/Jones backcourt was a disaster. Now with Brogdon and Carrington there aren't enough minutes to go around in Washington.

I think Okoro falls into the category of guys who are considered good defenders based on how bad they are on offense, not how good they are on defense.

I would imagine if he was willing to do this, it would be in Minnesota.

Return home, better chance at a ring, and lots of opportunity with Mike Conley.

Minnesota would for sure be a good place for him. Returning to Memphis would be solid as well. Magic and Heat too.

I also think Lakers would be a good place, because it likely would result in them moving D'Lo for addional depth which could allow Tyus to have a major role.

Yeah I feel like that's the case with two or three guys, that they are getting a good chunk more than a vet min but just waiting on one thing or another.

Feels like there's maybe 2-4 of those guys, a few true vet min guys, than a dozen+ guys that aren't full season roster guys anymore on that list.

Okoro was clearly the Cavs' best perimeter defender both by eye test and by the games he shut down the other team's best player. He did a number on Lillard in the middle of the Cavs' hot streak last year.

+1.1 defensive EPM last year. Same defensive EPM as Matisse Thybulle, Lu Dort, Dorian Finney-Smith, Josh Hart.

Then again, that's actually a worse defensive EPM than Donovan Mitchell and Caris LeVert.

But still an overall -0.1 EPM, which is a solid rotation-quality player.

Just based on the few times I saw him play this year, it seems like Okoro is for sure a good defender, but not a game-changing defender such that I'd commit serious money to him over multiple years given his offensive deficiencies.

Anything more than the MLE and I'd probably pass. And I think Cleveland easily matches an MLE-level deal. Which is why I think he's still unsigned.

But still an overall -0.1 EPM, which is a solid rotation-quality player.

Kid's also got a chippiness to him that I don't feel many other cavs showed in our series two years ago. He doesn't quite have that big-wing size, but he's a very tough defender for guards and smaller wings.

Brunson: So what are you paid to do?
Hart: Run around like an idiot during the game and f*** s*** up!
