Amazon was supposedly looking to partner with Bally's but it was challenged in bankruptcy court. Haven't heard anything new in a long time

That TV package is an f-in mess for the consumer.

We lose great announcing and studio teams at TNT. And now you’d have to sign up for multiple streaming service packages to see games.

And if you travel, you aren’t getting the TNT games on the hotel room TV. Another pain.

And I’m sure they’ll black all this crap out on league pass.

The nba should just give NBA tv and league pass to Amazon and let them fix it.

Amazon isn’t afraid to spend money on broadcasters. It will be interesting to see who they grab to be their big name lead broadcaster.

For those of you with an add supported streaming plan, how does that work for you guys when you're watching on Chrome with ad blockers? I have Peacock and I almost exclusively watch it on my laptop. I get no ads and it's great. On the rare time I watch it on my TV I get a ton of ads to the point where I stop watching it.

Lol. If you're working late hours for the man on your laptop, you tend to enjoy having the TNT double-header running in the background.

Oh I’m right there with you. I was looking to watch summer league the other weekend but the hotel I was in didn’t even have espn so I had to use the ipad. We are old farts though

I guess red zone would be decent. NBATV does crunch time where they show close games in the last 5 minutes or so. And they show multiple games at the same time when applicable. But that's when they aren't broadcasting a game.

This is good news. But I hope TNT pushes hard to get the rights back and doesn’t just settle for some financial payoff.

Whole case turns on whether their matching clauses applies to streaming games, and is Amazon such a different entity that the match clause doesn’t apply.

ESPN, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Fox Corp. are joining forces for a new standalone sports streaming service.

Officially called Venu Sports, the new streaming service will combine each company’s sports content offerings and licenses in a single package. As such, subscribers will have access to ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNEWS, ABC, Fox, FS1, FS2, BTN, TNT, TBS, truTV, and ESPN+, as well as hundreds of hours games from the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL, college football and basketball, tennis, the UFC, Formula 1, and NASCAR.

The service is expected to launch in the fall, priced at $42.99 per month. It will be available both as a standalone app, as well as a part of a bundle with Disney’s ESPN+ and Hulu and WBD’s Max.

If they offer a trial I may take it for a spin to see if college football makes it worth it.

Interesting idea. If TNT ends up not having hoops after this season it leaves them with not much. Some NCAA tourney games and some baseball.

Those are all channels I have and I'm not yet ready to ditch cable until I see how the whole Bally's debacle plays out.

I'm curious what the cost is if you already have Max or Hulu.

I'm also seeing that ESPN still plans to launch their own stand alone streamer next year.

I know sports are the main driver for cable nowadays but that pricepoint seems pretty high. I guess they are trying for a middle ground between the cable like packages of hulu or youtube and the streamer bundles.

I like that there's an ethernet port. You can cast content to it. Don't care about the new AI generated suggestions of overview. The Google Matter home connectivity might be important to others but doesn't move the needle for me.

I don't have any use for this but maybe some of you will.
