Rockets/Jazz
Rockets push chips in to be big time players
Rockets trade Eason, Sheppard (or Jalen Green), Sengun, Griffin (eligible in August), 25 FRP, 27 FRP, 29 FRP
Jazz trade Markkanen, Kessler
Rockets team up FVV and Smith with Markkanen and Whitmore. The cost is steep from a youth standpoint but also puts the Rockets closer to winning. If Green is subbed for Sheppard, then the cost stays low other than Markkanen's new contract. By getting Kessler, a defensive minded center takes the place of Sengun.
Eason is a backup to Smith, either Sheppard or Green will back up the other, Sengun is being shopped for his lack of defense, Griffin is new and not acclimated yet and would back up Brooks. So it amounts to a good youthful backup group plus picks.
Jazz get a great deal of youth plus additional picks; Jazz basically control the 27 draft. Utah becomes the youngest team by far and can still move off of Collins/Sexton.

Re: Rockets/Jazz
I got Sengun = to Markkanen more or less on trade value. So this seems like 4+ 1sts too much in value here.

Re: Rockets/Jazz
I'm a Jazz fan and I run to the phone to the league office to call in immediately. That said it is WAY TOO much for Markkenen and Kessler. I think in almost any scenario short of a Top 10 player, the Rockets let this team play this year to see what they have.

Re: Rockets/Jazz
Depends on if you believe the rumors. If Utah did turn down 2 FRPs for Kessler, then the value holds. If it was a bogus claim, then it is an overpay.
As for Sengun = Markkanen, I say not close. Markkanen is easily more valuable. But that is 1 opinion.

Re: Rockets/Jazz
I feel like you could take out the 1sts and this is still an overpay by Houston. I'm not sure that Sengun is quite equal to Lauri but Sengum + Sheppard is at least equal to Lauri.

Re: Rockets/Jazz
This is an absolutely absurd overpay. Houston never remotely considers anything close to this.

Re: Rockets/Jazz
Yea, it would be a couple first to turn Lauri into Sengun.
This value is so far off, its not even worth discussion.

That's a good joke, now where's the real trade proposal.

I agree with this. Lauri is better right now, but Sengun is younger and the team who has him - at the moment - has more control over his future.

Take out 2 assets not named Sengun and jazz still does the trade.

Re: Rockets/Jazz
Take out Sengun and I think this deal is fair and would work for both teams. If Sengun is needed in the trade for contractual reasons than I would send him to a 3rd team and pick up more assets to make the Rockets even better of a team.
