Random notes from the exhibition games.

Pretty good distribution of offense. The only real reason Lebron led the team in scoring is that he absolutely MURDERED the world with 60.9% FG and 46.2% 3P. He was actually third on the team in FGA and almost 4th, behind Ant and Steph, barely ahead of AD. Lebron was also only playing the 3rd-most minutes. Assist leader, 4th most rebounds. Definitely balling out.

Gonna need some other guys to step up offensively, but mostly the D needs to improve. A lot. Should be interesting to see how they look in the first real game.

First of all we sent all types of aid over the years and lobbied against Apartheid etc. We sent literal air force help to Ethiopia.

We NEVER call ourselves AA anyway, we say we're Black Americans. AA was a political label created by Jesse etc. We stand on this America stuff like it or not.

Your chip on your shoulder against us is because of jealousy that we're richer, more famous etc. as a group. We lobbied for you guys to be let in the country, lookup Dr King etc. pushing the so-called Kennedy Airlift. That's how Obama's father got over here. We've done a LOT for Africans but you never did a damn thing for us and still refuse to when in position to. All you guys do is player hate silently. Because you're too scary to say how you feel face to face.

Furthermore Arenas is Cuban-American and the way he talked you will never catch a grown Black American talking that way.

Tighten up dude.

Definitely a bunch of false assumptions being made on your part. Though I will agree with the point about jealousy you made. African refugees would definitely trade places with pretty much any Black American or even with Spaniards, Hungarians, some Albanians etc., if given the opportunity.

You told a disgraceful lie: “they always s*** on Africa every chance they get”

Lame.
Rest in peace Kobe & Gianna

It was pathetic how quickly they kicked him off to get mid White on the team.

Did they kick him off?

Hey so...

Is the OP of this thread ok? I felt like a put a good amount of effort into it but my brains were only operating at like 1/3 power that day so let me know if I made mistakes or forgot to include obvious information.

Also, what do we think about a stickied thread for the rest of the Olympics? To discuss non-basketball events. Would you guys use it? There are too many sports to write a detailed OP about it all but I could make a generic thread for people to post in.

As I understand it, Peacock will be airing all these games as well? I don't believe I have CNBC.

I think both Canada and Greece move on to the next stage.

Any two out of that group could advance and I wouldn't be shocked. Will be super-tough. One game at a time.

i think not having the crowd atmosphere is such a bad move by whoever thought of this ceremony.

should be doing this in a stadium.

On the other hand, the concept is unique, many more locals and visitors can line streets for various performances, and far more of the city features in them. Big showing of Paris itself and its illustrious history.

I like the innovation even if I agree that the cheering aspect is muted as it's more spread out.

Watching the CBC feed.

Abysmal inarticulate commentary. Some good info as each country comes in, ok, but during the performances, and overall, it's like listening to the opinions of the table next to you in a pub but worse.

'... in her 9th Olympics. That's a lot.' Thank God you're here.

Any physical battle sport a nation is good at - 'So don't mess with them in the Olympic village. Don't even look at them.' Right, because they just whip out the wrestling moves and boxing skills at random, triggered at the slightest perception of provocation.

A good detail provided has repeatedly been responded to with 'facts'.

Ffs...

At least the three who closed the door on the cameraman are warm and cozy and out of the rain.
