Lakers get CJ+Reath

Pelicans get Ayton

Blazers get DLo+Rui+pick

If I weren’t rooting for a tank year, this would be hard on the Blazers center rotation (a low minutes college player and a usually injured Robert Williams). My biggest worry is too many minutes for Clingan leads to injury for a huge dude not used to 82 games and not used to big minutes. BUT, if Billups is disciplined in not giving him too many minutes, I’m fine getting a G-Leaguer to help us tank off the bench and the trade value is fine otherwise. Other Blazer fans may have a harder time with that approach though, and I doubt Cronin does it.

Definitely balances the roster for the Pels. In sure Jarrett Allen is still the goal but outside of that it seems logical Ayton is someone who could be had.

CJ definitely a bigger impact on the court than Ayton but if Griff is desperate....

Hmm interesting

I don't know if we need to be giving up a 1st tbh. Portland would be lucky to get off Ayton with a Dlo expiring and a decent forward in Rui

You prefer CJ or Lavine for the Lakers?

I dont know if CJ and Reaves can close together, but maybe Lavine and Reaves could b/c Lavine is more athletic

I don't think anyone gives a first. I was thinking an SRP but a Portland poster suggested no pick is needed.

I think CJ is a better fit than LaVine yeah.

Ya a 2nd would be fine ofc, not moving a 1st for this

Why you got CJ ahead of Lavine fit wise jw?

Backcourt defense of CJ and Reaves would be quite bad, but I do prefer CJ to Lavine due to better health and cheaper

CJ is probably not the right answer either as he costs about 1.75x DLO and would cost us Rui (at least in this deal)

Vs many of the top end teams I think we will have 1 smaller guard (likely Reaves), Bron, and AD

Then we need 2 more guys.

Rui would be one currently and then its a toss up between Christie, Vando, Knecht

Feels like the priorities should be a wing or bigger guard and a big

Yeah salary wise mostly but play style is also probably more suitable.

Neither LaVine nor CJ are defensive players so while the size is slightly better I still prefer CJ fit. I actually think CJ is an adequate defender at the 1, most of his career his defensive struggles are related to being a 2 next to Lillard.

CJ-Reaves would work ok in a defense with Davis backing them because getting past them might be easy but you still got Davis to get past so it's a deterrent. Makes up for the lack of foot speed.

Reaves at the 1 and LaVine at the 2 would be worse IMO.
