FIBA ball is as bad as NBA. Tough loss for Greece, Canada way deeper but they had a chance if not for missed FTs and some bad mistakes.

Giannis leaves so much on the court

Wanted: starting guards who can play and hit a shot occasionally.

Giannis is still the best player on the planet, **** tragic that we haven’t gotten to see him healthy in the playoffs back to back seasons.

Credit to Greece for fighting until the end. Few things they’d like back though for sure.

Yeah, SGA was a bit of a bitch at the end there.

He missed another 2 at clutch moment.

I can’t believe Greece missed multiple wide open dunks/layups from the dunker spot once Canada overcommitted to Giannis. Unreal.

If I had any hair I would've pulled it out. Multiple guys wide open blowing layups.

Giannis is just so much better than anyone else on the court. Shai is getting his flowers now, but there’s a gulf between him and GA.

I look at Shai and Gilgous(sp)-Alexander as one and the same.

Canada is very unlikable. Credit to Giannis for almost pulling that off against a team full of NBA players.

PG Calathes and PG Walkup could not operate cause Canada's perimeter defense. (Both of them are bad shooters unless wide open and comfortable).Spanoulis strategy to start both of them in order to move the ball better backfired. We had no ball movement and no shooters.
Larentzakis was an efing clown lost alot of wide open 3s and Toliopoulos who is probably best shooter was forced to shoot alot of last seconds shots which he missed or got blocked. Spanoulis needs to draw some sets for our shooters. We didn't run anything for them. This is similar to what the Bucks do.

Draw some plays for your shooters should have been the antidote for Canada's near perfect perimeter defense.

Run some plays for AJ Green ... I mean Toliopoulos ... since trying to create off the dribble while Dort is guarding you is too hard for your shooters talent. They ain't Steph Curry, so put them on a position to succeed to make 3p shots which are capable of.

We have no microwave offense from our guards, we REALLY miss ... Sloukas & Tyler Dorsey

Those two where my starters playing with Giannis.

Man the amount of times I've seen this posted  not picking on you obviously but I feel like Giannis ices his knees every single game and walks gingerly off the court most of the time as well. He's a 7 footer pushing his body to the limit all the time so he is likely always in pain

I ate feta and olives today, and touched a lemon. Sending love to our pool members from the game 1 victorious Antipodes.

Hats off to Rudy Fernandez going around one more time so we all can appreciate the **** little unnecessary things he just has to do each game.

I know sloukas was hurt during the Olympic qualifying tournament, and didn’t think it would be right for him to take someone else’s spot, since he didn’t help the team get to where they are presently. That’s honorable even if he could really have helped.

Do you know why Dorsey isn’t on the team, though? I thought he did some really nice things for them in euro’s last time, and at times it felt like he was their only high volume outside threat. They could’ve really used him, too.

I am not sure why Dorsey is not on our squad.

I am sure there is a growing frustration from Sloukas being a sub and having to watch d/c&h€#d Calathes bricking 3s and failing , while he has been a better overall player for the last 10 years.

This year they MADE Walkup Greek, who has no Greek genes whatsoever ... and openly Sloukas made a statement that the Greek Federation should consider this situation more, cause National Team is all about representing your country, its not a club that you can sign whoever suits you.

So Sloukas in his "prime", after winning it all, has to share playing time with Walkup and Calathes who can't even speak Greek. I actually agree with Sloukas. I rather lose with pride than winning by "cheating". Serbs do what Sloukas is saying and I think its the right thing to do.

So both Sloukas and Dorsey are basically called to bail out the bad starters. I would be mad too. Its ok for a year or two in order to pass the torch but this has been a well known issue by most of Greek fans. Calathes can't shoot, period, he has no job starting with Giannis.

Calathes is like Bucks Brook Lopez, you know he is a liability but keep plays.

So I thing our overall roster has mega flaws. Walkuo is basucally a Calathes with more size and less playmaking. Not a shooter too.

Read on Twitter

Unless Giannis goes down like this, i'm not worried. Alvarado also returned, still injured.
