Must admit he looked pretty ordinary in the exhibition games. But not getting any playing time outright after winning a ring a mere month ago? That's gotta feel pretty ****.

Well, that was a slaughter. Jokic hardly affected the game in the second half. USA's bigs did a great job forcing him baseline.

Mad at what? Wiggins locked him up and Tatum basically didn’t show up lol, Kerr should be thanking him if anything

Yeah I dont know I'm just trying to figure out the reason he is DNP today when he appears healthy and available.

Jokic's 2nd best player can't even play ahead of Lu Dort for Team Canada... just saying/trolling :)

Ok, Celtics’ best player can’t even get minutes on the US team

Celtics best player didn't even get added to the team :)

And being the second option on the last gold medal team. Pop would never bench Tatum completely, lol, but Pop is a way better coach than Kerr so that makes sense.

Listen to his last podcast before the olympics he allready said Tatum will gonna have a tough time getting minutes, he knew.

USA when locked in is just straight up demoralizing

Think they will come correct with Sudan this week, last game was just a warm up (and didn't matter anyways)

As much as I don't like Tatum's game, I'm also surprised he's not played.

Tatum is better than Booker at literally everything. No excuse for this bs

Booker is on literal fire. Booker is a better scorer. And a knock down shooter. Tatum shot 20% from 3 in the finals and has been pretty bad throughout all the friendly games. Easy choice to bench him, excellent coaching

Tatum is better than Booker at literally everything and has great previous Olympic experience. Oh well, motivation for mvp and repeat next season

Lebron made it to the finals with that cleveland team.

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

+26 here and a couple of 20+ vs Puerto Rico and South Sudan. US will safely finish as #1 or #2 pre-QF and that’s crucial in avoiding the other top team in the KO rounds until the gold medal match.

That France vs Germany matchup should decide the other top team…

There are minutes to be had outside those 3. Booker playing over Tatum is silly. When has there been a situation where the second option from the previous gold medal team got no run at all on the very next team? It’s not a good look.

Red shirt year makes no sense for Tatum, he was the #2 option on the gold medal team 4 years ago

That was a weak team, this team has KD, Lebron, Curry, Ant, Bam, Booker etc etc. Amongst all these great players, Tatum is CLEARLY lower on the totem pole

It’s rare for star players to not register any DNPs in Olympics games. The last time I recall this happening was Harrison Barnes and he was obviously a couple tiers lower than Tatum.

So there must be something going on we don’t know about

Whats going on is the US had some very close calls in the exhibition games. They were genuinely lucky to beat Sudan. Tatum and Hali played like scrubs and the coaching staff is putting out the guys who have shown more than them. This isnt an all-star game. Youre playing to win and Tatum was one of the worst players through the exhibition and other guys are providing value he doesnt (like Booker who's getting mentioned is a much better catch & shoot threat)

Tatum's versatile defense and all around play isnt needed. You have your offensive stars in KD/Curry and an all around guy in Lebron. everyone else needs to be great at least 1 thing to get on the court and Tatum just isnt as good as the rest in this category (whether thats shooting, POA defense, rim protection..etc). Team USA is showing respect to their opponents by playing a tight rotation, which they should be. The world has caught up
