Must admit he looked pretty ordinary in the exhibition games. But not getting any playing time outright after winning a ring a mere month ago? That's gotta feel pretty ****.

I mean, he wasn't great in the playoffs either though. He has benefited from fantastic team building, and a lot of team help his whole career.

Booker is on literal fire. Booker is a better scorer. And a knock down shooter. Tatum shot 20% from 3 in the finals and has been pretty bad throughout all the friendly games. Easy choice to bench him, excellent coaching

Tatum is better than Booker at literally everything and has great previous Olympic experience. Oh well, motivation for mvp and repeat next season

Lol, he's not getting MVP.

LeBron and KD are better than him and Kerr is trying to build rhythm and chemistry.

I’d add Ant is also a tier above him. And White while not necessarily better, he plays his role better. Tatum goes iso too many times trying to get his and that’s not something USA needs with all these better scorers around

How does it feel to be constantly wrong? Lmao. And yes, Wemby is all the difference

When has he been the difference maker with France? What are their record this year? How did France do against Serbia. Man you are easy work.

We will see buddy. When France ends up with silver, can’t wait to see the meltdown

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

I like what I'm seeing from Booker, a player I'm usually not a fan of. He realized there are 10 players on the roster who are first options on their team but not everyone can be the first option on Team USA and he embraced the role player role, unlike some other stars who struggled to figure out their role on the team like Tatum.

There are minutes to be had outside those 3. Booker playing over Tatum is silly. When has there been a situation where the second option from the previous gold medal team got no run at all on the very next team? It’s not a good look.

Red shirt year makes no sense for Tatum, he was the #2 option on the gold medal team 4 years ago

That was a weak team, this team has KD, Lebron, Curry, Ant, Bam, Booker etc etc. Amongst all these great players, Tatum is CLEARLY lower on the totem pole

Half the players you listed were on the last team, lol. The last team had KD, Bam, and Booker, lol. They had Lillard instead of Curry. Tatum got more minutes and shots than all of them except KD. Pop just knew how to use Tatum better. Pop is also a better coach so that makes sense.

Edwards isn’t a tier above Tatum. That’s laughable. Dude is coming off 3 straight first team all NBAs, a championship, and he has a gold medal win as a top 2 option. The Tatum disrespect on this forum is crazy. Ant has proven nothing.

Mad at what? Wiggins locked him up and Tatum basically didn’t show up lol, Kerr should be thanking him if anything

Yeah I dont know I'm just trying to figure out the reason he is DNP today when he appears healthy and available.

That’s what happens when you have a deep team. It’s only American fans that are worried about these lack of minutes— the players don’t care, their mission is to win the gold and they’ll accept whatever role they have.

That said, South Sudan and Puerto Rico coming up, won’t be surprised to see the likes of Hali ans Tatum explode on that one and limit Curry, Bron and KD minutes.

I see you Heat fan, trying to sneak Bam into the mix of greats. Sneaky sneaky well done.

Booker is the better shooter/scorer which is really what they need out of that role. Tatum’s appeal is an all around game but there’s better all around players and more lethal discrete skill set on this team.

I'm honestly shocked that so many people in this thread think Booker is a better player than Tatum
