Steph just being on the court gives us the spacing we need even if he's not going off the fear he puts in opponents is enough for him to be out there over Tatum.

Almost lost to South Sudan (and legit got lucky at the end). If Kerr is coaching for optics, he should be fired.

Step throughs are legal in all levels of basketball.

As an American, that looked like an illegal step through as he picked up the pivot foot before the start of his jump.

It's not about when a player picks up their pivot foot but when that pivot foot lands back on the ground.

How did this thread turn into bitching about Tatum's minutes? After all the struggles leading up to the Olympics, Tatum got benched and they just destroyed Serbia.

I actually agree he deserves to get minutes but maybe pick a better time to argue your point. :dontknow:

Disagree. Steph's screens were a cheat code all game long.

You guys really think USA can drop games in this group and point dif will matter? Come on

Point diff matters to be one of the 2 best 1st places so you get an easier quarterfinal draw.

Isnt draw complete random? Plus, they finishing first anaway...

I don’t know that Any is overall better than Tatum yet, but he definitely is better in the role team USA is filling.

I feel like it’s pretty obvious to everyone not named Simmons and the people in Boston why Tatum doesn’t play.

I would love to know the last time they took one of the top options from a previous gold medal team with largely the same roster outside LeBron and Curry, and then not play said player at all. Oh, and he’s one of the most important players team USA needs to keep showing up for the next 8-10 years if they want to keep up with the world. Why would he show up in the future after this? This isn’t Tatum’s first Olympics. You don’t yank minutes around like that.

You just answered your own question. LeBron and Curry have taken over the team and others are better in a supporting role than Tatum.

I think it’s proving my point as well. Curry isn’t that great in international play, and Lillard was on the last team as well who was basically the Curry on that team. Curry shouldn’t be a reason Tatum isn’t playing unless he is getting special treatment, which he probably is (but I thought winning was most important!). LeBron being on the roster makes Tatum go from second option to not playing at all? That’s silly.

Pop would never, even with this roster, lol.

Celtics fans think that becuase they won a chip, all of their players **** smell like roses.

What the hell bro-

This is blatant as hell- it’s actually going to the topic for all the wrong reasons.

Kerr “we had to put the best players on the floor against our toughest assignment. Unfortunately that doesn’t include Tatum - and of course Browns not good enough for this level. So the Celtics are represented by holiday and white - the best players in Boston…”

Yeah good look Kerr

American fans are too dumb to realize this. His gravity alone makes him a special player and a necessity in this lineup. But all they look at are the stats…
