There are still moves to be made if we went all in with the picks and assets(Max, Austin, Knecht) to make us a real contender around the best duo in the league. However, the Lakers motivation to invest in Lebron-AD like that is not there, like half of this forum, so here we are.
I wonder if we could get Markkanen, Garland or even bring back Ingram. We can add depth to a contending team and picks to a rebuilding team. I’m not opposed to going after a young all-star calibre player since Lebron is a massive expiring when he decides to hang it up.
Garland's proving to be the same value for his contract as Dlo atp (dollar:production). Severely failing to perform under pressure. And his contract basically strips all of all our depth.
Lauri's contract is tasty af tho, but Ainge would want the 2 picks + Austin + Knecht + a night with the cancer blondie, so there's at least three things from that list that Rob isn't allowed to offer, even if Jeanie's ready for some wholesome action for a night
I feel like we could buy low Garland. Cleveland needs size and defence. We have Rui, Vanderbilt, Wood, Hayes, Reddish and D’Angelo is an expiring contract that can be redirected to another team. Plus Hood Schifino and picks. We definitely need to find a third team to route Russell to unless the Cavs want him as an expiring….

I can be talked into it, but not really all that excited to get another guard that can't play defense and forgets how to play basketball with other star talent for some reason. The later reason is something I've heard a Cavs friend say - he was only good for a short period between Sexton & Mitchell. As soon as another alpha enters the fray, he regresses into a faster but less efficient DLo.
He's actually on a really bad contract tbh given the new 2nd apron issues. He's at best a 25 mil player on a 40 mil deal.
Lauri is the opposite & he's actually kind of a unicorn in terms of the amount of off ball movement he gets into for a big. We have plenty of big shooters in the game now, but Lauri is moving non stop like some of the most elite shooting guards in the game - Steph/Buddy/Klay. And his release height makes it impossible to switch cos he easily shoots over the smaller guards / takes them to hole and passes very well out of double teams. Lauri also brings very good rebounding and fits immaculately well with either or both of our stars in terms of spacing.
Defensively he's weak, but that impact can be mitigated(not eliminated) by a few simple adjustments -
- Matchup based rotations - maybe he plays lesser minutes against the smaller teams if he can't exploit the size advantage enough on the other end
- AD & Bron play free safeties around him at the center. He is a big body, who does hold up well in 1v1 situations. Can rebound and close possessions after that too.
- AD switches to a 3, instead of Bron for half the minutes to save Bron's legs if need be
Overall, I think his offensive impact and style fit outdoes his defensive woes sufficiently to make for a very positive player. Bron will have so much fun with Knecht and Lauri running around the court causing havoc for defenses that already have their hands full with Bron and AD at the rim.

It is my opinion that Bronny, JHS, Lewis are not ready to contribute this coming season. Christie showed flashes but Ham had his own reasons why he benched Max.

-Max Christie, Is going to see a lot of minutes this season I'm expecting around 20-25 minutes OR more and his gonna be the break out player IMO
-Dlo, While looking at trading, starting to think he'll be on the roster until via deadline
- Reaves, gonna see a lot of minutes at point 35 min ish
- Gabe gonna get a lot of minutes as well especially If healthy
- Knecht will see minutes both SG/SF probably more SG - Where do you guys see Knecht SG OR SF?
- S. Mays, I think JJ will use him maybe not huge minutes but he'll get used Mays is the forgotten man
- JHS will be used, but probably only in garbage time.
- Bron, then you still got Bron who's going to play some minutes as the point forward - not as many minutes as I'm expecting Reaves to be the point (Bron will be the PF at most).
Still hoping for a J.Grant trade, but Rob's not willing to use 2 pics so we'll see what else happens.
If a trade does happen then yes you'll probably have to get another guard to replace DLO or play the others more minutes etc

Rob has been trying to dangle D'Lo's expiring contract to teams with assets hoping these teams would be attracted and at the same time dump salaries they don't want to pay but so far no luck.
Hopefully, some teams would eventually lower their asking price and take D'Lo.
There are rumors that Portland would rather get Gabe and other fillers too. Mays is not even in their payroll per Spotrack and Hoopshype so if both D'Lo and Gabe are traded, they will be stuck with just Christie and Reaves having to chase quick PG's.
I really think Rob messed up in giving player options to Cam, Hayes, Wood Bec at this moment, they have 15 players under contract with pretty much no cap room to acquire assets they need with 4 unplayable guys in Bronnie,JHS, Lewis and Cam in the team. Possible trades and injuries will deplete their Guard rotation.

Because he doesn't want to Include 2 pics, like the portland trade -recent one was Rui/Dlo +2 pics for Grant - Rob says No because doesn't want to trade the two pics - gonna lose DLO IMO Or get virtually nothing for him, pull the plug and get It done ROB.Hopefully, some teams would eventually lower their asking price and take D'Lo.
Don't see It happening as of yet, but might change. There are rumors that Portland would rather get Gabe and other fillers too.
haven't seen anything, not sure trading Gabe would be wiseMays is not even in their payroll per Spotrack and Hoopshype
Oh thought he was, still think he should get playing timethoughI really think Rob messed up in giving player options to Cam, Hayes, Wood Bec at this moment, they have 15 players under contract with pretty much no cap room to acquire assets they need with 4 unplayable guys in Bronnie,JHS, Lewis and Cam in the team. We probably need to keep D'Lo for now. As much as people are hating on the guy, he was our 3rd best player last season and we hadn't made the play-in without him.
1. Hayes + JHS + Reddish + FRP (Protected) for Walker Kessler (LA also save 5.8M, which opens up the tax MLE).
2. Use tax MLE on Luke Kennard.
PG D'Lo - Vincent
SG Reaves - Kennard
SF Vando - Knecht
PF Lebron - Rui - (Wood)
C AD - Kessler - (Wood)

Malpractice by Rob for not getting Tyus Jones for the minimum. We could offer him a starting spot, just like Phoenix. Our team is probably similar to Phoenix in terms of talent. Why let talent pass for free? Even if we don’t need another guard. We’re limping into next season and we don’t even have our own pick.

Criticize Pelinka all you want. Just make sure is fair.
This is unfair criticism. Tyus Jones chose the Suns because of a role. There is no way he would've selected the Lakers because the role on the Lakers would not have been as advantageous as it would've been on the Suns.
Be fair. This is not malpractice.

For a minimum contract level player....who fits a role you acknowledge we're already full at. You wanna go up into the 2nd apron for this??

Agree to an extent.
If Tyus wants to showcase his ability and play for his next contract next summer i think the Suns are a perfect spot - a bunch of shooters in need of someone to run things. Rob could have offered a starting gig as well, but he would have had to have a deal in place for D'Lo and i'm not sure there are good deals out there right now for D'Lo.
And Tyus Jones isn't an upgrade over D'Lo at all and he will get hunted in the playoffs, just like D'Lo.
