The issue is whether they are going to stick with the fiction that guys like IKF and Green are really crucial for some mythical competitiveness in 2025. IKF is no longer needed - and ready to return, he played in two games at Buffalo on the weekend. Green is a pricey reliever, doing very well but the money he's paid could get you two decent relievers during the winter. Both are ideal sell-high situations.
IKF has to be traded, IMO. He's at the peak of his value (it will only go down from here), they have a bunch of players already on the roster who can replace him (Clement, Jimenez, and even Barger can cover 3B), and trading him would save $7.5M next season as well as get them closer to below the luxury tax when combined with other moves. Jimenez being out of options might be a great thing as that might force the Jays to take action. No point having all of Clement, IKF, and Jimenez on the roster next season, especially if Bichette is staying put.
