Jerami Grant to the Lakers? (Rumor from Zach Lowe via Basketball Forever)

Hachimura, Vanderbilt and Christian Wood for Grant would work money-wise. Not sure what else the deal would look like. Will be interesting to see if it actually happens.

These sites have been seeking clicks with that same Laker package all offseason. Trae, Dejounte, Garland, who else? They've all been 'talked about' by the Lakers for that same package. Now it's Grant's turn, I guess.

You guys still falling for this? The media has to keep an off-season stream of "every player available on the market" going to the Lakers articles/posts coming for the masses to generate clicks.

For the 700th time, no one is taking that package of Lakers trash for anyone decent.

Why would the Blazers accept a cluster of trash from the Lakers for Grant?

They may as well keep Grant in that case, wouldn’t they?

If the Blazers could pull even a protected first-rounder with Rui, Vincent, and Vanderbilt, I'd take that for Grant, no question. But I don't see the Lakers coughing up a pick unless it's one of those "converts to two seconds" pretend first-rounders.

Yes, if there's no draft capital coming back, the Blazers have no incentive to trade Grant to LA.

But Christian Wood's in the deal this time, bro. Maybe this time, on his what 8th or 9th team, he's due for a breakout.

Realistically, who can you acquire from a combination of Reeves, Dlo, Hachimura, Vanderbilt? Maybe get Brandon Ingram back?

In this world nothing is certain except death, taxes, and rumors of the lakers getting every big name available each summer

Maybe because they want to get off a really bad contract for a player that's averaging 54 games played the last four seasons. Lakers should probably give them a protected FRP to sweeten the deal but nothing more than that.

The cluster of trash the Lakers are sending the Blazers isn’t exactly great contracts either.

Rui, Vincent and Vanderbilt all have injury issues of their own. And their all locked up on long contracts too.

I won't believe it until I've seen him photoshopped in a Lakers jersey at least five times.

Portland has never traded with us

Lol, all of the Lakers tradeable contracts are more valuable than Grant's, nevermind the picks. I hate this bs auto-response to every Lakers rumor thread. Half of the people who post this aren't even aware of what the Lakers have in 2024.

Grant at his contract and role he’d play can’t possibly be worth that much more than Rui to the Lakers.

There's that, too. Just two trades ever between the franchises, in 1971 and 1980. Call it the JRoy rule: no trades with the Lakers allowed!

And there's this. Portland fans obviously want something of value in return for Grant, but it's not just a potential pick that possible suitors lose -- it's all the rotation minutes they have to give up to match his salary, too. Once you cobble together contracts and something to entice the Blazers to move Grant, it's just not worth it for most teams IMO. I think the Clippers, and not the Lakers, might actually be the best fit to get Jerami to LA.

I think the last deal was Kersey back in 85.
