I’m doing Lightning Strike finally, even though it’s mega meta now it seems. I decided between Slayer and the new Warden but by the time I jump in on Sunday there should be some early returns.

This review name drops original Actraiser and Fat Princess and now I guess I'm obligated to play it.

Game rules. Absolutely scratches the itch for a good strategy game and the tower defense mechanics are great. I'm only up to the fifth stage (4th boss gave me a ton of problems until it clicked) and I'm anxious for more.

Ooof, tons of streamers playing this build. I can't imagine what the prices for items are going to be at endgame lol.

I haven't been able to play too much yet, but the league mechanic seems fun so far. Playing Poison Concoction Deadeye at the moment, will transition to Venom Gyre around 65 or so.

Is recruiting completely screwed up for anyone else here?

I'm into my 4th dynasty, second time around with Wisconsin. I'm undefeated going into week eight. #2 school in country after wins over Georgia, USC, Ole Miss, and Texas. I've been the #1 choice for at least 15 of my targets but I've been top 3 with probably 30 of them.

But other scools have 10 four stars and 2 five stars. Or 6 four stars and four 5 stars. Most have signed at least 9 players

I've signed no one. My class is ranked 134 out of 134.

Are your targets progressing to committing? I've never heard of anything like this where recruits just don't commit but there's a literal bar that you can see and if it fills up, they're yours lol. I'm in Year 9 of my dynasty I think and have never come across anything like that. I'm probably around Week 10 in my current season and have ~20 commitments so far and am a week or two away from another 5 to 10 commitments. This is admittedly the best recruiting class I've had but still; I usually have at least 10 commitments by Week 8.

Im playing as Navy and winning every game on the hardest level, and no one wants to play for me. WTH? Its not like they will have to get up at 4 in the morning, or spend 4+ years on a boat full of mostly men. Kids these days.

I typically have less committed recruits until the transfer portal opens. But I've never not had one recruit commit through week 6/7 or so.

I have plenty of other issues with recruiting, mainly the inability to schedule a visit when they are top 5 and it even has them under "Ready to Visit" filter. I also hate that it automatically moves to the next screen after recruiting updates, but I know I can go back. The other annoying thing, is every GD ATH is a scrambling quarterback with insane ratings.

That's just my gripes with recruiting, I have plenty of other gripes I've bee posting in here regularly. I figured out the super sim bug, just don't back out quickly when returning to the game and it never happens anymore. But my biggest issue is the ball hawk DBs and LBs on the other team. Not even looking at the ball and turns around last second to pick it off and it's almost always returned for six.

I'm still having fun, just not as much as I'd have hoped. There are far too many little things that piss me off.

The recruiting results going to the next screen automatically annoys me every time, lol. There's no reason for it to do that!

Feels like they ran out of time with things. Gameplay is great and a lot of aspects of the dynasty are fun, but not fully baked.

I won 4 natty's in a row and just now am finally able to pull b2b top 5 recruiting classes. It is frustrating trying to get guys to commit. The best advice I got is to go hard on targets right out of the gate, but some guys just sit on their decision.

PoE league is fantastic. Little QoL fixes and nerf to group gameplay means that the economy has been kept in check and there's lots of good things to do.

NCAA 25: nothing like a defensive back that can see the ball coming with his back to the ball, recover two steps as the ball is in the air, then jump with enough velocity to knock down the ball that you have feathered over the open receiver :)

Not only that, but they intercept everything. Like my QB will get hit as he throws and the ball will just pop into a DLs hands. Or it'll get deflected into the air and they magically have a LB/DB there to grab it.

In my 3rd year my QB has 29 TDs and 29 INTs lol. It's stupid and I'm turning the slider down.

It looks like a game I'd love, but when I dipped my toe in a couple years ago I think I got overwhelmed.

Yeah it's been a popular build, though probably less popular than slams. I got a late start on the league and have had little time to play in general, though, so I haven't been too impacted by the economy (yet). I'm just getting into maps and trying to fill in (a **** load of) gaps in my build coming out of the campaign. It's super squishy when you enter white maps, but I know it'll get better.

It is 100% an overwhelming game. I don't know how to defend that aspect of it. It is very wild to open the talent tree as a new player and see everything that's there.

That being said, I have about 800 hours in it and still don't understand a lot of things. I think the best way to recommend it is to find a guide and just follow it. If you were ever interested in starting up, I know MiG or I would definitely be down to recommend some resources.

I know you're a big ARPG guy and I sincerely believe PoE is the best in the business. Diablo just gets **** all over when comparing the two. As mentioned above, they've made a lot of little tweaks to information and interfaces that have removed some of the obscurity from different mechanics, and I think they're really trying to optimize the game to make it more accessible.

The running subreddit joke is 'I've played for x-thousand hours and am still a noob' and I definitely feel like it applies to me lol. It definitely takes kind of embracing the unknown, looking up lots of stuff to put pieces together and figure mechanics out, lots of time in "spreadsheet" (or the build planner) - but I absolutely love all of that, personally.

I’ve been playing on Heisman with the INT slider around 25 or so and it’s pretty good. Definitely don’t see any INTs like what you’re referring to. I generally throw 0 or 1 INTs per game and I generally deserve the ones I do throw.

The athletes really are insane. Even the non-QBs are just such freaks even if they’re a 2 or 3 star.
