If It requires Rui, Dlo + filler probably wouldn't do It, I thought the trade was - Rui/Dlo + 2 pics that's It... I would do that... But If it's another filler - Gabe etc? I probably wouldn't do It
But like I said above, I think Lakers might end up losing DLO for nothing OR get very little In return for him and I can see It now when that happens everyone start complaining about It - why didn't Rob/we trade for Grant etc haha
Rui, Dlo plus 2FRPs for Grant works.
But do we want to do it and give up our last bit of assets? I would prefer us see how we gel and see how well Rui plays under JJ before dumping them for an aging 3rd option, Grant.
I would love to see the following closing roster:
AR
Max
Knecht4
Bron
AD
If we perform well, then go all in like Dallas and trade 1 FRP for wing help like PJ Washington AND 1 FRP for a bruising backup Center.[/quote]
2 picks + Rui, DLo is an insane overpay for a 30 year old whose chose to get shots up in Detroit rather than stay with an elite contender for all of his prime. If we letting Rui go, I would offer them 1 top 10 protected pick. That's it.
Rob is a useless POS, but walking away from that deal is a resounding W.
The depth concerns you highlight are very real, specially at PG. Since 2020, Lebron has been tapering off his playmaking / ball handling responsibility. 2023-24 is his lowest usage year since his rookie year. He simply can't do it for an extended period anymore.
We have like 6 SGs(Austin, Max, Knecht, Cam, Gabe, Bronny) who can't playmake or even be the primary ball handlers for an extended stretch. Austin turns into a turnover machine if he's asked to fulfil PG duties, and the rest of them aren't even serious shout outs for the job.
