Sweet.

Love this extension for the Cavs. I think this improves Allen's trade value. 5 years/$131 million is great value.

Makes me think Minnesota will be able to extend Gobert on something similar.

This is really good value for Allen.
Allen getting $27m a year while Mobley gets $44m a year is kind of funny though.

Fair contract for what he brings.

Re: [Wojnarowski]: Allen Extends In Cleveland (3/$91M)
I was expecting this move a week or two from now so Allen won't be able to be traded during this season, but not at all surprised the Cavs offered it (it was the max extension they could offer as a 40% increase of his previous contract) and only a little surprised Allen took it.

Re: [Wojnarowski]: Allen Extends In Cleveland (3/$91M)
I had already saved a couple Allen renegotiation trade ideas, sad.
But this feels like great value for Cleveland. Great value and great locking up another piece for at least 3 more years..
Understandable for Allen to take the money, but think he will be considered a bargain at this number and would’ve gotten more..
Don’t love the current four’s fit, but the floor is really high even with the questionable fit..

Solid deal.
Hopefully CLE can make some noise this year.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

Interesting, so this means we cannot trade him?

My bet is less given age, but not sure. I think Rudy will be motivated to stay.

Maybe but the goal for Minnesota is lowering his cap hit in his player option year, so they may need to overpay a bit in the following years to off-set it.

i expect a chris paul like contract w/ partial or nonguarantees in latter year(s)
something like 35/35/35/35 (10M guaranteed), effectively a 2 year extension for 35/yr and defer parts of his PO into 4th year

This means Allen is still tradable at TDL right?

Wow! $30 million a year for Allen how much will Myles Turner be costing?
