I just learned today that 3x3 is an Olympic sport. I really feel like the squad we sent over could have been a lot better. The Bucks' bench would be more competitive.

The Greek team being full of minor league players and having a chicken nugget for a coach was always going to end this way but at least it was cool to see a few games of Giannis out there healthy.

If Greece beats Australia, I think they’ll have a good chance of going through as one of the third place teams.

They would need the point differential between Canada - spain, and Greece - Australia to be 10 points. So if Greece beat Australia by 3, they’d need Canada to beat spain by at least 7. At that point Greece would jump to third in the group off point differential.

One other third place team would advance, and I have to imagine South Sudan and Puerto Rico get demolished over the next two games. Then I’d anticipate Brazil beats Japan to advance.

The aussies are the second most talented team in the group, but anything can happen. Greece needs to hit shots and they’ll probably need a little more from Giannis.

This should have been a job for whoever won the “Big Three.” We’ll win gold with Charles Oakley, Steven Jackson, and Jason Terry. Hell yeah.

I don't care a whole lot about Olympic basketball but it is nice to see the stars play together in a real game, not the all-star game.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Sometimes our bad shooters get into a mood and start making 3s and everything. A month a go same Greek team beat Slovenia and Croatia while the team was shooting something like 50,40,85% so just pray Greeks keep missing shots and don't have a game like that.

Thanasis isn't a loss. Panos Kalaitzakis has Thanasis' place on the team, and in all seriousness, Kalaitzakis is a far better player than Thanasis is. He's better at Thanasis at everything except for fouling. He's better than Thanasis on offense by quite a bit, and he's way better than Thanasis on defense.

Thanasis could be a big loss for Giannis psychologically, if he wasn't with the team, but that's not an issue either, because he's with the team, with them at the hotel, with them in the travel, with them at practice, in the locker room, etc. So he's still there to support Giannis mentally, and a much better player than him has his role on the team.

Too bad Greek NT keeps disrespecting the rarest players this country produces which are 3p shooters. I'd rather watch Kalaitzakis instead of Walkup and Toliopoulos instead of Calathes. Greek Basketball Heads are D/(&×€@)$ , stuck on 90s basketball. No wonder our NT sucks all these years .... it is not defenseball you $#%$@!@ ... its basketball and offense will always have more weight than defense. I will keep saying this a million more times till at least one more Greek fan gets his head off his @$$ with the old "defense, defense defense" mentality. I know the efing roster needs some defensive forces but Greek NT & Bucks can rarely score when they face a good defensive team. Greeks always overweight the defensive end of basketball more than actual shooting. Its just a shame, Greek kids are never coached how to shoot, and taught how to defend and how to execute X&Os all his life. Greek Basketball has a huge flaw, which we have never admitted neither adress it,. Teach Shooting Mechanics to the kids you @%#%@%@.

The "Greece has no shooters and that's why they lost every game they ever lose" thing is a talking point that originates from a certain Greek club team that has been on a mission to sabotage the national team for the last 16 years. The actual problem Greece has had is that a certain segment of the fan base wants to cause rifts within every national team roster, because of a club agenda.

the shooting isn't nearly as big of a problem as every guard being terribly unathletic is

And the unathletic guards are both Americans.

He's from Melbourne, if Greece wins he still kind of wins by defacto.

Calathes at least has a Greek father, but bizarre he hasn't learned a word of Greek all those years living there

Has there been any chatter on why Giannis is sitting behind the bench when he’s out?

No.I assume the seats are just too close to eachother and he needs space.I thought he does something similar with the bucks.

How does it feel watching Giannis play against your team?

Our actual management posted a lineup with the starting 2 guard being Tony Snell.

Feels very weird. I don’t want him to be sad but also want us to destroy him.

Greece pushing the lead without Giannis is crucial. They're determined to stay in Paris, sorry Aussies.
