The Algerian boxer competed in the Tokyo Olympics and lost in the quarterfinals and has an amateur record of 37-9-4 with only 4 KOs.
Are we being serious right now. Sounds like the Italian just quit?

Are you saying that you should be allowed to violate the rules as long as you still can't win even with that advantage?

To be very clear, because people are mixing up things, and others are using it for rage-harvesting, Iman (the Algerian boxer) was born a girl and raised a girl, she just seem to suffer from a biological condition, she's not the case of males deciding to identify as women later in their life.
Both boxers in question tested XY which was the disqualification for IBA. Having a DSD but going through male puberty is a biological advantage regardless of how one was raised or socialized as a result.
IBA tests for sex. IOC stopped testing for sex via a simple cheek swab back in 2000. So they have different criteria for who competes and the latter allows for unfair biological advantage.
Yes that is different than self ID changes. Most of those athletes I believe have not been allowed to qualify to compete (ie/ Lia Thomas in swimming).
IOC also dropped the need for hormone treatments in 2021. You can be all for trans rights, however combat sports should have the strictest possible rules to protect women.
Neither of these boxers would be allow to compete against women under USA boxing rules which are strict and have provisions for transgender fighters. They would not make our Olympic team or go pro, no sanctioning body other than IOC would allow this.

The Italian fighter for sure knew before the fight she was going to quit and send a message. She didn’t seem hurt in the ring talking to her trainer or post fight.

Only 4 KOs in her wins is the biggest sign of being a woman.
The Italian is a joke, quitting in boxing after 45 seconds with giant gloves and headgear is crazy

Try reading this very thread from the beginning and seeing people writing whole essays, papers and 10,000 word posts, alongside quoting endless twitter "experts", while beating around the bush and avoiding answering that good old question... "what is a woman?"

I am not as fast as women runners in the Olympics. Is that a sign of being a woman?

Damn, I just read that the Algerian didn't even fail a chromosome test, the IBA ruled her ineligible from elevated testosterone only before a gold medal match vs a Russian. This is really dumb

Competing when the person knows they have a biological advantage is clearly unethical. Sign of the times, that this is allowed.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

What is false? Their statement has no specifics about the test and their website has no specifics about their criteria for gender.
Please note that IBA/AIBA is a corrupt organization that lost it's IOC status for numerous corruption scandals and various shady dealings with Russia. I am an avid boxing fan, they were almost responsible for killing boxing in the Olympics because they were actively rigging matches. They are not a serious organization

She also competed in the last Olympics and didn't medal and apparently has a career record of 9-5. Reading this thread (and that sht heap that used to be called Twitter) you would think she was Mike Tyson circa 1987.

No. Nobody suggesting it would take 87 Tyson to beat a woman at boxing.

Though, rage harvesting might be the next Olympic sport at this rate.

IBA tests for sex, both boxers failed XX so were ineligible and were deemed to have a biological advantage over female boxers per statement. IBA has issues but both boxers didn't dispute results/dropped it. They could just address the failing of XX tests but then again it's not a criteria for IOC.
The central issue is that - IOC should bring back cheek swab for sex category.

Again, there's nothing AIBA has shared that corroborates what you have said. They have released a statement of a test with no results/no criteria for what they test or what they even consider female. They are not a serious organization.
The Algerian boxed in AIBA from 2018-2023. Heck she boxed in the tournament until her gold medal match. But no, I'm sure that was the first time they started doing those tests

Who cares? I don't get why people put so much focus and energy on trans debates. It represents like 1% of the world population and it's a major topic in politics and social media. I just don't get it - there are way more important things to focus on.
