He ain’t that. He’s probably still a stud in a very small handful of matchups and somewhere between sparingly used minutes eater and completely unplayable in the majority matchups in the playoffs in the modern nba.

Trade him and get a usable player or two. He can easily be a luxury expiring contract/matchup/culture guy to future asset rich teams who want to take a step forward (Houston, okc). We don’t have the luxury of luxury players.

he's only supposed to be our 4th/5th best player

better rush into trade him for scraps cuz he is getting paid like a "high end third best player on an average team"

Since Bucks don't have the brain to use Brook properly...
like a 15-20 minute backup Center....
like a post-up permanent threat against backups, (from where he can score and playmake with Giannis out)
like an off the bench scorer/leader
..... just trade him

If we trade Bobby I would talk to the Clippers who need a starring PF. They got Zubac at the 5. Maybe a Portis and someone else for T.Mann, a pick?

For Lopez it's interesting because obviously you look at the Pelicans that need a center but I think they are wanting to trade Ingram for a big like a J.Allen in Cleveland. You got the Lakers also, but that would need to be a 3 team deal.

We've talked about our desire to get Wendall Cater out of Orlando.

We will see I do hope Horst makes a move.

The defense has been catering to his strengths, and hiding his weaknesses to the point that he seems irreplaceable. I think the reality is he’s big, has good timing on contests, and communicates well - those three attributes shouldn’t be that hard to find. Dayron Sharpe, Goga, Robert Williams, etc.

Just get solid nba players back, not Henson or Monroe.

This is where you guys completely lose me. He's the 70th highest paid player in the NBA....

Brook will be the 10th highest paid center.
8. Hartenstein ($30MM)
9. Claxton ($27.5MM)
10. Lopez ($23MM)
11. Capela ($22.2MM)
12. Allen & Vucevic ($20MM)
13. Turner ($19.9MM)
14. Poeltl ($19.5MM)
15. Nurkic ($18.1MM)

Most would agree Allen and Turner are worth more than their current salaries. Are any of the remaining players considered an upgrade over Brook when factoring in their current salaries?

Now let's all hope he's willing to take a Horford type of deal to finish out his career in Milwaukee because the pickings are slim if you're looking for a starting caliber stretch center who's switchable on the perimeter and protects the rim at a high level. Because the more I look at the list of centers, the more I realize the "ideal center" Bucks fans are seeking, only exists if you are willing to ignore injury concerns and inconsistent production, or are basing their evaluation strictly on untapped potential. Because outside of Wemby and Chet, I'm not seeing this player. Bam and Turner would be the next two closest to this but Bam cannot shot 3's efficiently and Myles doesn't have the lateral quickness to stay in front of quick guards.

There has to be a trade with the Pelicans sending out Brook, Pat, MarJon, and our First (top 3 or 5 protected) and we get Ingram and some picks that send Pat and MarJon to the Pistons and we get Duren back and still have some picks left over.

Ingram is pretty Middleton-esque (without the passing though) but with healthier knees. Maybe we can talk him into a discount for being on a contender for extension or maybe he’d take a prove it deal since nobody seems to want to pay him. Give us some insurance if Middleton wants all the money on his next deal and for this year gives us two Middletons.

Duren gives us a switchable big that appears to be undervalued atm much like Gafford was. I think he’s a beast and still super young.

2nd apron rule (can't aggregate salaries) has backfired of having a Brook salary slot.

So maybe a 3 team deal where we get Ingram Khris and get an asset back (our 1sts) and then go get Allen with Brook + those assets.

Asset wise what do you think ?

Khris + Brook = Ingram + Allen ?

XXX (12)/Bobby (24)/Giannis (12)

Maybe that’s a season too early with no starting 4, Giannis just entering his 30s and Brook getting paid 23 mil. But could become a possibility moving forward. Horst has taken good care of Bobby/Brook to retain them at MLE money. It would be awesome if he could add a 4/3 starter to make this work.

Taurean Prince has a big opportunity here as it stands.

Suspect it'd take a trade to supplant Brook (especially in the regular season).

Either way Giannis committing to being DPOY and leading the league in rebounds seems that much more plausible now that we have GTJ.

Atlanta has $25.3M and $3.7M trade exceptions as well as their MLE and BAE open.

That could be very helpful for the Bucks or any team navigating 2nd apron constraints.

There has to be another move coming for Atlanta, as this current roster isn't good enough to make the playoffs and won't even get a lottery pick to show for it.

The Hawks should be pursuing trades for veterans who complement Young and now have two extra first-round picks from the New Orleans Pelicans in order to do so.

As of now, this has been an extremely disappointing offseason for Atlanta with no real direction in sight.

Nice article but I tend the believe the rumors about the Bucks wanting to play a different style and attempting to move "core players" to do so over what was written in the article.

Brook does have value. As do most players that don't actively hurt their team. I'd bet the value for Brook/Bobby wasn't nearly what they thought it would be.

I know I keep saying it, but Brook is such a bad fit for the Pelicans they don’t make sense for him at all. They’d easily have the worst rebounding front court in the league with Brook and Zion. I think Zion’s size just has people assuming he’s a great rebounder when he is just garbage at it.

Haven't thought about that guy in a while. Makes sense though. Big ass 28 year old Latvian. Pretty productive for the clear worst team in the top Spanish division.

Assume we cut Galloway?

Yeah he was pretty efficient, except behind the FT line and from 3.

Hm, we appeared to be full up on our two ways with Umude, Rollins and Galloway so someone has to go. Not sure who it would be between Rollins and Galloway.
